A few months passed and Tk still had one month until he could go back to work it felt like an eternity other than that everything was back to normal and it was nice
Carlos had gone to work Tk's sleepy "I love you come home to me ." Still present in his head he ran his fingers through Tk's hair kissing him at his hairline Carlos had walked onto the scene of his first call A car wreck " Foster parents are dead little girl refuses to talk to anyone nor let medical check her out ." Michell says "Let me try talking to her Tk always says I have this thing with kids ." Carlos says as he walks towards the girl the girl flinches
"I'm not here to hurt you okay ?" Carlos said crouching down "My name is Carlos what's yours ?" Carlos asked "Maya.." she says hesitantly "That's a pretty name Maya would you be able to tell me what hurts ?" Carlos asked but she just stayed quiet " I know you're going through a lot with your foster parents being gone but I promise you -." Carlos said "They hit me .." Maya said, "Please don't put me back in the system ." Maya said tears rolling down her face "im gonna do everything I can to help you stay out of it
Maya came back to the station with Carlos "Is that a donut ?" Maya asked shyly "Yeah you can have it if you want ." Carlos gestured the donut towards her "Hey while you eat that I'm gonna go talk to my captain about your case alright ?" Carlos said he went into his captain's office
"Maya Williams .. foster child ." His captain said, "Her foster parents abused her captain -." Carlos said, "We can't put her back into the system ." Carlos said "Unfortunately we have no other choice unless we already have fosters who will take her .." the captain said, "Me and my fiancé .. we can foster her ." Carlos said, " I suppose so just over the next few days we can do the paperwork piece by piece ." His captain said
"You're done for the day go get her settled in her new home ." His captain said, "Thank you, captain ." Carlos said
"Hey, Maya?" Carlos said as he came back to his desk Maya turned around with frosting on her upper lip " Was it good ?" Carlos asked giving her a napkin "Thank you ." She said quietly "How would you like to come home and stay with me for some time ?" Carlos asked softly the five-year-old nodded her head
When they got home Carlos told Maya to wait in the car so he could talk to Tk first he knew this was something he should have talked to Tk about earlier but he didn't want to have it over the phone
When Carlos came home Tk was cleaning up the living room when Carlos came in "your home early ." Tk said, "Oh god what happened?" Tk said nervously "Nothing -" Carlos responded, " well something- ." Carlos said, " your freaking me out Carlos ." Tk said "There was a call this little girl lost her foster parents who abused her she wouldn't let anyone else even come near her except for me -" Carlos said "She wouldn't even let the paramedics check her out and I couldn't put her back into the foster care system so I brought her home with me -" Carlos said, " and I know I should have talked to you first I -." Carlos said before Tk cut him off with a kiss "It's okay ." Tk said softly
Carlos brought Maya inside "hey maya this is my fiancé Tk he's a paramedic mind if he takes a look at you ?" Carlos said, "Safe?" She asked looking up at Carlos "Safe." Carlos nodded "Hey maybe mind if I just give you a quick once over ?" Tk asked as she sat at the end of the couch
Maya nodded slowly Tk checked her over noticing the bruises she had "All good ." Tk said, "You want a lollipop?" Tk asked as Maya nodded "Carlos here happens to like lollipops a lot so you're in luck ." Tk said grabbing the container out of the cabinet she picked out a lollipop shyly Tk looked at Carlos seeing a small smile "Hey Maya ?" Carlos called "Did you wanna go see your room ?" Carlos asked obviously if Maya was staying for a long time they would have to redecorate but right now it was just a guest room they led her to the guest room
"We can redecorate it to be more your style ." Carlos said, "I get to stay here ?" Maya asked shyly walking into the room "As long as you want ." Carlos said "Thank you, guys .." she said "Anytime." Tk said the closed her door letting her settle in
" thank you for doing that ." Carlos said as they got to their room "You don't have to thank me it's my job ." Tk said "Are you sure your not mad at me for springing this on you 'cause I know -" Carlos said, "Babe your spiraling." Tk said kissing Carlos's forehead
"Everything will be okay," Tk said playing with Carlos's hair
In the middle of the night Maya peaked open Tk and Carlos's door Tk was sleeping on Carlos for a moment Maya thought about returning to her room but before she could leave "Hey? You okay ?" Carlos whispered, " I'm sorry I'm scared ." Maya said as she traveled to the side of the bed "Did something happen? Carlos said as Tk rubbed his eyes " I don't wanna be alone I didn't know what to do I'm sorry ." Maya said crying "Sweetheart it's alright ." Tk said scooting over to his side of the bed "You can come in if you want ." Tk said as Carlos opened the blankets for her
Maya crawled in between them "Are you guys mad ?" Maya said, "Not at all you can come in whenever you need us okay?" Tk said "Okay." Maya said "Okay." she said
