Tk's mental health was shit it has been since he was little from the age of five his parents were fighting and tk heard way too much of it being a five-year-old he had to watch his sister die right in front of him
By the age of six, his dad was barely around using the excuse that the firehouse was his family and they needed him after the tragic accident that just happened but tk was his family too he needed him
From the age of seven, he felt that he would never be enough he wasn't enough to make his father stay he wasn't enough when his parents finalized their split he just wasn't enough
By the age of Ten tk was shoving his fingers down his throat in the school bathroom by 11 taking the blade of a pencil sharpener to the blank canvas that was his body
He wasn't enough he never would be so he got into drugs to numb his pain but then he was disappointing his parents when they found out tk was using it was a continuous cycle of disappointment so tk believed that if he was always high he wouldn't even be able to tell that they were disappointed
Until his dad got him sober for the academy and he's been clean from drugs since but the burden that the drugs eased only brought back old habits like cutting
Then he met Alex who charmed him tk fell for him until Alex showed his true colors he started hitting tk hard and tk just told himself that he deserved it and that Alex was just trying to help him
Tk hadn't relapsed on drugs but he had returned to old habits he couldn't stop it made him feel better the thought of food made him sick he would pass food to buttercup under the table at work and make excuses why he wasn't eating if he did have to eat tk always went to the bathroom right after to purge tk knew it was getting bad when he caught himself self-harming at work
Nancy walked into the bathroom seeing feet under the stall and the sounds of puking coming from the stall "Tk you okay ?" Nancy asked waiting outside the stall tk didn't say anything in response just flushed the toilet coming out of the stall he went to the sink rinsing his mouth out " you okay ?" Nancy asked, "yeah fish just doesn't sit right with me ." Tk laughed before brushing his teeth "that's the second time this week .." Nancy said, "I'm fine I promise ." Tk said
Later that day calls had died down so everyone was mostly downstairs playing games or in the kitchen asking Paul but tk kinda just wanted to be alone tk laid on his bed holding his blade in his hand "you're doing it again ." Nancy said walking In "what ? Tk said putting his stuff back into the bag " your cutting ." Nancy said " I don't know what you're talking about ." Tk said " the blood Mateo found in the showers that were you the puking earlier you were making yourself throw up .." Nancy said "I don't think you know what you talking about ." Tk said getting off his bed "no okay then you won't mind if I search your bag ." Nancy said dumping Tk's bag out on the bed Nancy saw a few blades some had blood on the some didn't "you happy now ." Tk said collecting his belongings
" I thought you were getting better .." Nancy said, "what do you mean ." Tk said, "after Carlos caught you I thought you stopped -." Nancy said as tk realized "screw you both ." Tk said grabbing his bag " tk -." Nancy said following tk Tk in the locker room as tk got his stuff "what Nancy ." Tk said, "it's only cause we care about you ." Nancy said, "if you cared about me you wouldn't have done that ." Tk said, "Just leave me alone ." Tk said
Tk went to Carlos's place after his shift he walked into the bedroom getting his clothes "hey babe did we have plans tonight ?" Carlos said tk didn't answer he just kept shoving his clothes into his duffle " what's going on ?" Carlos asked getting off the bed "why'd you have to tell her ..." tk said looking at Carlos " was it to get another pair of eyes on me ?" Tk said, " tell who what ?" Carlos said, " you promised me you wouldn't tell anyone ." Tk said looking at Carlos Carlos could tell tk was upset " did something happen are you okay ?" Carlos asked putting a hand on Tk's arm " don't touch me ." Tk said, "we're done ." Tk said trying to brush past Carlos "you're not leaving here till you calm down ." Carlos said turning tk around Tk's eyes went wide Carlos could tell he was scared " why'd you tell her you told me you wouldn't !" Tk said backing himself away from Carlos " because I was concerned for your well-being.." Carlos said, "I'm not gonna hurt you -." Carlos said walking closer to tk tk was studying his every move " tk you can trust me .." Carlos said "No." Tk repeated backing himself further into a corner Tk backed himself against the wall he spaced out
Flashback
Alex please ." Tk said a tear falling from his eyes " make this easy for me please ." Alex said taking his belt off Trying to pull down his pants " Alex stop !" Tk said smacking Alex across the face Tk's face was in shock from what he'd done Alex stood straight up looking tk in the eyes " I'm sorry I -." Tk said but before he could finish Alex punched him down to the ground
"You listen to me !" Alex yelled, "I'm the boss your lucky someone like me would even want a fagot like you !" Alex said kicking tk in the stomach "fucking bitch ." Alex yelled "I'm gonna take what's mine tonight and you're not gonna do a damn thing about it .." Alex said
Tk sat there on the floor all morning watching as the sun came up watching as Alex slept on the bedspread out across the middle " tk thought about running but it would be no use Alex always would find him
"What are you doing down there ?" Alex said snapping tk out of his zone " you threw me down here after you finished with me .." tk mumbled " get up here .." Alex said, " I love you ." Alex whispered laying his head on Tk's lap but tk didn't say it back he just sat there numb he wondered if he looked as dead inside as he felt
Flashback end
"It's okay .." Carlos repeated as he held tk "you're okay .." Carlos said "don't hurt me please .." tk said "Ty I'd never hurt you okay .." Carlos said, "I'm so sorry I yelled at you ." Tk said bursting into tears Carlos just held him "you did nothing wrong .." Carlos said later that night they lay on the bed "what's going through your head ." Carlos said stroking Tk's hair out of his face "I don't want us to break up .." tk said looking up at the ceiling " I don't wanna break up either ." Carlos said, "do you hate me ?" Tk said turning to look at tk " I could never hate you ." Carlos said " I'm sorry I told her I just wanted to make sure that you were gonna be okay and she cares about you a lot ..." Carlos said
Carlos sat up letting tk lay his head on Carlos's chest "have you hurt yourself ..?" Carlos asked as he rubbed Tk's back tk just nodded his head "I'm sorry ." Tk cried " I need help ...." tk admitted " we're gonna get you help .." Carlos said kissing Tk's head
