3rd person pov

Watanuki was getting ready to go to school and pick up iku from her house which he still couldn't believe he let yuko talk him into it

Watanuki's pov

"Honestly what does yuko think I am an escort" I said as I was standing in front of iku's house I was about to press the doorbell but she opened the door surprising me

"Oh watanuki-san are you ok I didn't hit you with the door did I" she said worried "no you didn't I'm here to take you to school" I said

I looked at her eyes at least her dark circles aren't as dark as they were before she handed me a bento box "what's this for?" I asked

"I made you a bento boxas a thank you for taking me home" she said "you didn't have to I was more than happy to help you back home" I said

She looked at me with doe eyes 'how can I possibly say no to that look on her face' I thought to myself as I took the bento box "Ok I'll eat it" I said she smiled and we walked side by side beside each other

Iku's pov

We were walking to school and I had a sudden vision rain was falling down 'good thing I brought my umbrella' I thought to myself

I looked over at watanuki who was focused on walking to school we finally got there I heard some whispers about me

"Look it's the freak with red hair" someone said "yeah does she think she's special or something" another one said I sighed heavily

"Just because she got in this school doesn't mean she's smart" another said "hey stop that" watanuki said "it's fine" I said

"But doesn't it bother you about what they say" he said "it doesn't matter" I said with a fake smile trying not to cry my eyes out

My heart aches, it hurts why can't anyone accept me for me we headed to class and we sat down I leaned my head against my desk trying so hard not to cry

"Hey now don't go falling asleep" I heard watanuki say I looked at him as tears threatened to sting my eyes he looked at me worried "you ok" he said

"I'm fine" I said wiping the tears out of my eyes "are you sure" he said "I'm fine" I said with a fake smile on my face

Watanuki's pov

'That smile it doesn't feel right' I thought to myself as class started and it went as usual except iku was wide awake this time

After class...

It was lunchtime and I had joined iku for lunch but I didn't know himawari usually had lunch with iku "it's good to see you making friends with iku, watanuki" himawari said

'She's such an angel' I thought to myself "Well I want to make sure she's feeling ok that's all" I said "by the way what's that" himawari said looking at the bento iku made for me

"Iku made it for me as a thank you for helping her home" I said himawari smiled at iku and iku was avoiding the look she was giving her

3rd person pov

'Himawari stop looking at me like that just because you know I have a crush on watanuki doesn't mean you can tease me' iku thought to herself while sweating bullets

"That was nice of you iku of course you always make such delicious food" himawari said "hima-chan please stop" Iku said blushing immensely in embarrassment

"Oh come on iku why are you so embarrassed I'm only telling the truth" himawari said "Is her food really that good" watanuki said opening the bento

Watanuki looked shocked seeing the assortment of food that was prepared 'woah this looks good I wonder how it tastes' he thought and took a piece of sushi putting it in his mouth

He chewed and started to cry in joy "this is so heavenly" he said "really" iku said shocked "why do you look so shocked" watanuki said

"No it's just I'm glad you like my cooking" iku said with a blush on her face while eating her own bento "so iku do you want to talk about crushes" himawari said

This made iku choke on her own food "are you ok" watanuki said as iku took a sip of Boba tea she had bought earlier today

"W.why would you suddenly say something like that hima-chan" iku said embarrassed "what I'm not wrong you do have a crush on someone" she said

'Why did she have to bring up that subject what are you trying to do himawari kill me' iku thought to herself blushing immensely

"You have a crush on someone?" Watanuki said a bit startled 'maybe that's why she's tired she's stressed and doesn't know how to approach her crush' he thought

"Who do you have a crush on maybe I could help" watanuki said "no thank you" iku said himawari giggled "there's no need to be so shy about it" himawari said

"Hima-chan please stop" iku said in a sad tone "ok don't want you to pass out" himawari said "Your such an angel" watanuki said

Iku's pov

Hearing him say that to himawari made me clench my fists so hard that I ended up breaking my own chopsticks "um iku" himawari said

I looked up from my food 'my heart aches' I faked a smile "yes what is it" I said "you broke your chopsticks" watanuki pointed out

"Oh silly me...I guess I need to buy new ones then" I said rubbing the back of my neck embarrassed 'my heart aches' I thought to myself "I can help you get new ones when I take you home" watanuki said

"Ok sure" I said 'my heart aches whenever you get close to himawari why do I have to feel such pain it hurts' I thought to myself as I clenched my chest where my heart would be
