CHAPTER 28

ARIANA LINCOLN

"Boss, you okay?" Fred asked.

I nodded.

"We have to leave now, see you later."

I nodded again not even processing what he was speaking.

"Let's go Nicholas."

Nick nodded, Fred made his way towards the elevator.

Nick held my hand "Are you alright?"

I nodded "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Can we like, meet sometime? I have things to ask."

I nodded "Sure."

We exchanged numbers since my old number wasn't valid anymore.

I was about to quit our conversation when a voice was heard from behind "Ms. Lincoln, I want you to attend the meeting."

"Yes Sir." Replying to Alessandro I turned back to Nick and hugged him "I'll see you later."

"Bye Boss." With that he exited.

I need to talk to Alessandro about Bruno. The accident.

But now is not the right time, maybe after the meeting.

Calm down, Ari.

Calm down.

You can go through this.

I leaned against the nearby wall resting my head back with eyes closed. Taking deep breaths I finally made my way towards Alessandro's office.

Bianca sat on a couch beside Alessandro going through some files.

As Alessandro noticed my presence, he excused himself and made his way towards me.

"You okay?" He asked, careful that his voice wasn't heard to the other person in the room.

I nodded "Yes."

"What were they saying?"

Keeping a straight face I replied "I don't think I need to tell you about my private conversations."

He rolled his eyes "You are so difficult to understand. One moment you are so close to me that we-" he stopped at that, not wanting to finish the sentence.

I know what you want to say.

One moment I am so close to you that we were about to kiss and the other moment I run away from you.

"Where do you want the meeting, Sir?"

Jesus! I hate him. I hate him.

All he does is hurt innocent people.

First Sebastian. Then Bruno.

I can't stay with him. I can't.

I have to take Ian away from this man. He is dangerous.

I guess my stress was visible on my face, he stared at me trying to read my mind. He held my arm pulling me a bit closer "What's wrong?"

I tried pulling my hand back from his hold "Let go."

"I did something, didn't I?"

"Leave me."

I hated his touch. I hated it.

"What did I do?"

"You have a client here, do not create a scene."

He left my hand but his eyes didn't move from me even for once.
