Bai Liu looked at the system panel that popped up. After Alex’s favorability dropped briefly, it rose again. He realized that Tang Erda’s affairs had been taken care of.
He was now in his dormitory, converted from a hotel in the town. A small room, crammed with bunk beds for dozens of new recruits – this was the best room available.
But fortunately, all these people were gone now, except Spades sitting next to Bai Liu and Guy sitting opposite him.
Guy propped himself up on the bed with open hands. He noticed Bai Liu’s eyes looking around and smiled kindly: “You’re not used to it, are you? These are already the best conditions here.”
“But tonight you can probably have this room to yourself and have a pleasant time for two.” Guy winked, “These new guys will party all night in the town’s taverns and brothels.”
“After all, they don’t know if they will come back alive from the assault mission, so they always have to enjoy themselves with the military pay issued to them in advance.”
Bai Liu looked at Guy: “You will go too, right?”
Guy shrugged his shoulders: “Everyone from the first commando team will go. Alex usually doesn’t allow me to attend such gatherings, but this time should be an exception.”
He smiled nonchalantly: “After all, you have to give someone their last meal before they die.”
Bai Liu thought about Alex’s approach: “Alex will go with you, right?”
“Of course!” Guy seemed helpless under restraint, but his smile was full of happiness, “He won’t trust me to go alone.”
After knowing that Alex, the mainline NPC, would go, Bai Liu immediately asked, “Can we go with you?”
Guy raised his head in surprise, leaned forward and held Bai Liu’s hand: “Of course! I thought you wouldn’t like this kind of occasion.”
Sitting beside him, Spades’ eyes slowly moved down and landed on Bai Liu’s hand holding Guy. He paused for a moment, then looked away, lowered his gaze and rubbed his toes.
Guy was completely unaware of Spades’ gaze and continued excitedly: “I have also prepared a show for Alex tonight. It would be great if you, as friends, could come!”
Bai Liu realized that this might be a hidden plot. He smiled and asked, “Is there anything I can do for you?”
“God, you’ve hit the nail on the head, Bai Liu!” Guy was distressed but happy, “I was really worried that no one could help me. This is a big show, and it has to be carried out without telling Alex. Those guys don’t have the consciousness to keep secrets, so I can only do it secretly alone.”
“It would be great if you and Spades would help.”
Bai Liu smiled and said, “Of course.”
Guy stood up excitedly: “Then I’m going to get the list now. There are a lot of things to prepare for this show.”
When Guy left, Bai Liu suppressed the smile on his face, and Spades sat silently by his side. There was still a distance of no less than 50 centimeters between the two of them.
Ever since leaving the camp, Bai Liu had kept this distance from Spades and had not said a word to him again.
Bai Liu talked to Alex, talked to Tang Erda, talked a lot with Guy, and even shook hands.
But he just wouldn’t talk to Spades.
“Are you deliberately not talking to me?” Spades lowered his gaze and asked.
