Kabanata 34

The thirty-fourth tick

Kairos and I have become normal since then. Normal, as in just 'normal'. We never had an argument again after that day. Zach, on the other hand, didn't show up anymore. I kinda miss him... If I may be honest. It's been almost two weeks since I last interacted with him. I don't want to ask Kairos about what happened naman, kasi I don't want us to fight na. And he looks at ease too, like everything is going well, so I don't want to ruin that.

Now, just like my everyday routine, whenever my class is done, I'm heading to his apartment first and resting there for a bit until he comes home. Minsan sabay kaming pumupunta sa training niya, pero kapag sobrang dami kong gagawin, naiiwan ulit ako mag-isa. And that's fine with him naman. He even gave me a duplicate when he saw me waiting for him, so I could come in whenever I wanted.

He's been playing more than ever before rin. And kahit nasa apartment niya ako palagi, our time is still limited. From Monday to Saturday, may training sila, unlike dati na may three days na rest day, ngayon naman isang araw nalang. If it weren't for me, telling him to eat and rest, he wouldn't even take care of himself. He looks like he wants to play non-stop talaga. Pero there's nothing he can do naman once I told him what I exactly told him to do. He'll just stay silent and follow me.

My head tilted to the side when someone nudged me on my arm. "Boss, sa'n ka niyan?" It was Atlas, holding a camera in his hand.

My eyes shut tight when a flash suddenly blinded me. He took a picture!

I opened my eyes and looked straight at him with my brows knitted together. He looked at me and showed me the screen, still smiling widely.

My lips parted when I saw myself looking like a dumb girl with my closed eyes. It's as if I'm sleepwalking in broad daylight!

"Delete that!"

He shook his head and snuck his tongue out, which made me gasp and both of my feet stop from walking.

I squinted my eyes and crossed my arms together. "Delete nga sabi, eh!"

His eyes squinted too, not because he was irritated but because of the harsh sunlight directly on top of us.

"You're not gonna delete it, ha?!" Nanghahamon kong tanong.

He took a step toward me and let go of his camera, making the strap hanging on his neck its only support. Both of his hands went closer to my face. It's as if he was making himself like a cap for my eyes.

He winked at me, "Try ko lang naman kung maganda ka bang gawing subject." nang-aasar na sagot niya.

"Naman..? Kung..?" My brow raised. "Excuse me?! The audacity, ah? Ask me muna if I want ko bang maging part ng whatever subject thingy mo na 'yan."

I pushed him on his chest, but he still held his ground.

His brows wiggled in a playful manner. "Bawal ka diyang tumach, kasi baka ika'y ma-attach." He said, with a smirk on his lips.

My lips parted when I finally understood what he meant. "What the hell?" Ngumiwi ako, "Geez... As if!" nandidiri kong sagot.

I flipped my hair and shoved him away with my arm.
