Chapter 1: Friends and Family

Nunew Jerks up from his bed as he hears his alarm go on. He sighs with half eye closed as he reaches out for his phone on the bed side table.

He takes a peek of the time and date. He groaned.

Friday, 7:30 am

He groaned again.

He threw his phone on the bed, lay back to bed and covered himself with a blanket.

Why did I even turn on the alarm today? He thought to himself .

He was about to doze off again when his phone rang.

He took a peek at the phone which was lying near his feet. He tried to ignore the person who called in.

He lay back again when the phone rang one more time. He annoyingly reaches for it and without checking who is calling he answers the phone.

"Hello."

"Nunew Chawarin! Do you know what time it is?" He holds his phone away from his ears as Amara shouts.

"Do you realize what day it is today, Mar? You know I don't wake up early on Friday." He whined.

"I knew it! You totally forgot! Nu, yes it's Friday today and it's the 17th! Do you know what event is about to happen today right?" Amara said getting annoyed with her brother.

She even woke up early today to come to the café to help him set up.

Realizing what Amara meant. He checks his calendar for the set up schedule.

"Shia! I totally forgot!" He immediately jumps out of the bed and runs to the bathroom.

"Hmmm.. there's nothing new about that." Amara states.

"I'm sorry Mar. Are you already at the café?" He asks. He reaches out for his toothbrush.

"Yup! Luckily Jean arrived early and opened the shop. You don't need to hurry, Hia, we still have ample time to prepare." Amara said.

"I know but we still don't have things we need! I lost track of time this week due to the hectic schedule that I have forgotten to buy the things that we need." He puts the phone on speaker and lays it on the sink.

"That is the reason why you are blessed with someone like me. I already got the supplies yesterday. Yim and Tutor are already here, starting to set up." He totally hears the chaos on the other line.

"You are really the best!" He made a smooch sound imitating like he is kissing her.

"Ewww.. Nu!" Amara says with disgust.

He chuckles.

"As if you have never been kissed by someone else." He teases.

"Hia New!"

He laughs. It is really cute to tease his sister. He can already imagine her blushing.

"Alright, alright but just make sure that when he does he needs to ask permission from me first or else he is gonna see heaven first thing in the morning." He warned his sister.

"You know I won't do that not unless we are in a relationship." Amara says defeatedly. He can't really stop her brothers from being possessive. This is what her brother said that last time too.

Remembering what happened the last time when she went on a date...

She just shakes her head to drop the memory.

"That is good to hear. You know that getting you hurt is the last thing we all want." Nu said seriously.

"Hmm." Amara hums in agreement. "I know and that is what makes you both the greatest brothers in the world."
