Nu wakes up from the sunlight that went through the curtain.
It was already Monday morning. He stretches his body and looks at Yim, Nat and Amara who were sardines in one bed. Tutor was on the other single bed still sounding asleep. He smiles, he is really lucky to have them as his friends and sister.
The TV was left open with the Pirates of the Caribbean rolling on it. He turned it off, went to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth.
He left a note to them before he came to his room to check on his brother and cousin and at the same time to change his clothes.
When he came in, Net was drinking coffee near the window. James is sleeping on the king size bed. Boun and Prem are pressed on the single one.
"Good morning, Phi." Nu greeted him with a smile.
"Hmmm…" Net put down the coffee after drinking it. "Good morning little Nu. Coffee?" Net offered to him.
Nu shakes his head. "No thanks phi. I'll just go ahead and change."
Net looks at him. "It is still early, you could still sleep. Are you going out?" Net asks.
"I'll just take a little stroll and will be back in an hour."
Worry starts to form in Net's face.
"I am okay now. Don't worry, I promise to be back safe."
"Just make sure that you will be back before your brother becomes sober and make sure to wear your jacket." Net says handing him the jacket.
"Okay phi." He hugs Net before going out.
The morning wind is so cold that Nu shivers. He puts his hands inside his pocket and starts walking. He went by the beach and to the main road that leads to the lighthouse.
A lot of people are taking pictures of the sunrise. He walks towards the south part where no people are standing, he decides to stand on the railing near the door of the lighthouse, the last time he went inside, he thought he saw a ghost.
"And a hot one indeed." Nu says to himself and giggles.
He leaned on the railing and sighs.
“I miss this view.” Nu whispers to himself. He raises his hand and tries to reach the sun as if he could touch it. The warmth feels good against his skin.
He closes his eyes and breathes in.
He doesn’t know why but he has the feeling that someone is looking at him but he just ignores it.
“It’s a miracle you are up this early?”
Nu looks at the person who is speaking. He smiles at him. “Pa.”
Xeron comes and stands beside him. “How are you my son? It’s been a long time since the last time we have seen each other.”
“I have been doing okay pa. How about you?” He asks him back. “I guess old age did not change you at all, You're still as good looking as ever.”
Xeron laughs. “This is what I like about you.”
Nu giggles.
“I never would have thought that I would be seeing you again here.” Xeron looks at the view again.
“I never thought so too pa but here I am back here unexpectedly.” Nu smiles as he looks at the view too.
They both fell silent and enjoyed the silence. Nu stands close to Xeron and leans his head on his shoulder.
