"You're up next you know." Charles nudged me gently as we sat at our table, people were doing speeches and as the maid of honour I had to do mine.
If I could drink right now to take away the nerves I would, I'm not bad at singing infront of people but speaking wasn't my thing, hence why the funeral was so uncomfortable.
I stood up from the table and headed over to the microphone, ready for my speech to start as I waved at Penelope who was smiling widely at me.
"Hey everyone, May I grab your attention for a few minutes?" I asked speaking into the microphone calmly, Charles giving me an encouraging wink.
"As I'm sure you're aware I'm melody, Max's sister and Kelly's maid of honour. Growing up, Max was a little cynical. He didn't believe in true love or fairytale endings. I, on the other hand, was the more romantic one. I would tell him, much to his annoyance, that he only felt this way because he hadn't met the right one yet. And guess what? As normal I was right." I chuckled as the crowd did also.
