I found him.
Enzo.
I'm looking at him in rage and so much disgust, that I believe exploding any second with restrained anger.
His face is swollen from my punches, nose broken, lips split. He looks half dead.
With a pained groan Enzo lifts his gaze. I could punch him already again, because this fucker really has the audacity to fucking smile.
My wrists ball into fists, my jaw hardening. I'm biting so hard down on my teeth, I fear them breaking any second now.
"Was this all you had to give?" Enzo's voice is muffled by the pain he's feeling.
A dangerous smirk turns to my features. I lean down to him, loving the power I have above him tied to the chair. Looking vulnerable as fuck.
"No, Enzo." I growl. "This is just the beginning."
His eyes widen with fear. This fucker is such a pussy. I can't believe I've been friends with him just a few months ago.
"What are you going to do, Mason?" he asks, sounding scared as fuck but is still trying not to show how much I effect him. He's really trying to scratch all the pride he has left together. Pathetic as fuck.
"Where is the fun in telling you?" I laugh. "A game is only real fun when you don't know how it'll end, isn't that right?"
His answering scowl is enough of an answer for me.
I grab his throat, my hold too strong for him to catch a little breath. His eyes fill with tears. All the oxygen he had left leaving him.
Our faces are only inches apart when I threat, "You are going to regret doing those things to my wife. You will regret of ever having the right to be alive at all. And the moment I believe you are broken enough, I will kill you. And I will enjoy it with all my heart. You took her in the knowledge she was my everything, and I will make you regret, Enzo. I will take all you believe to love, until you have nothing left. I will take it all."
The fucker is shaking as if he's just been in the coldest shower, his forehead sweaty, his face red without air and he smells like shit.
Disgusted by him I pull away. The moment my hand leaves his throat, Enzo sucks in greedy breaths. A print of my fingers leaving a red mark around his throat. Good.
I snatch the knife to my left, inspecting it like it's the most wondrous thing in the world.
"Please, Mason." Enzo begs. "I-I only did this b-because I got the mission to do it. You know how this works. They would have killed me if I hadn't kidnapped Fay."
I glare at him, my voice as cold as fucking ice. "Too bad, Enzo. Now you're going to die a much more brutal way than you would have with those people. You should have told me before you kidnapped Fay. We would have figured something out together." I shrug. "Now you're going to pay for every month, every day, every minute and second, Fay was gone and I didn't knew she was alive. You will never feel the way I'd felt, because you have no idea what love is, but I sure as hell will make it feel pretty close to it."
"W-wait." the fucker almost cries, trying to move in the chair. "I-I will give you all the information I know of, i-if you don't kill me."
Lovely. I smile. "You will give them to me either way. I will make sure of it."
"Don't do this, Mason. It is not my fault. I'm not the one responsible for this." he tries desperate. Speaking like he's an innocent in all this. The desire to kill him gets bigger with each passing second.
I make a thinking sound. "Hm, tell me then. Who is responsible for Fay's abduction?"
Enzo struggles, his eyes snapping to the door and then back to me. I arch an eyebrow, take a threatening step closer to him with the sharp and long knife in my hand. The perfect weapon to ruin this fuckers face even more. And even better, to cut his fucking throat.
"Tell me, Enzo." my voice is demanding and deep enough to cut through skin.
He actually winces. Such a scared bastard. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd piss himself any second now.
"Promise you won't kill me first." Enzo breathes, his gaze on the knife.
"You're not in the position to make any commands." I growl. "If you won't say it now, I will find my ways to get it out of you eventually."
I put the knife against his throat, hard enough to have Enzo bleed a little. He hisses when I cut through skin.
"Fine!" he almost shouts, his voice vibrating. "What do you want to know?"
"Everything. Who. Why. And when." I reply.
He swallows, his eyes close. "I tell you this as a friend-"
"We are no fucking friends." I growl, interrupting him mid sentences.
His eyes shoot to mine. "There's no going back if I tell you, Mason."
I study his expression, he looks in pain but there's also an edge of worry on this fuckers face.
Hate burns in my veins.
"Tell. Me." I threat, the knife cutting deeper. Blood is running down his throat, his T-shirt.
"They contacted me three months or so before Fay got kidnapped. Well, when I was dancing with Fay. Around this time they made the proposal." Enzo rushes, his breathing fast. "They told me you had a bounding connection with this woman. I didn't believe them at first because...Mason? The man who hates almost every single soul on this earth? But then one night, I saw you with her." his eyes meet mine, my heart beating faster than usual. "The way you looked at her...I've never seen this look on your face before. It was pure...fascination and so much...love. They didn't give me any more information about you and Fay. The mission was clear: abduct the woman Mason couldn't stand to be away from. She is your weakness." Enzo pauses to read my expression.
I'm trying so hard not to show any emotion that it almost hurts.
It's true. Fay is my absolute weakness. Without her I'm nothing. I live for this woman.
"It wasn't easy to kidnap her. Even though you left her after the incident in her apartment... you never truly left her. You watched her, kept an eye on her. It was impossible to abduct her without your knowing instantly. So I waited. Mandy was an agent all along, working for the bad people for years. It was no coincidence that Fay and Mandy met at the toilet. The collision was planned, just like you scheduled to meet Fay again. Mandy played to be her friend to win all her trust. She succeeded."
"But why?" I ask.
He shrugs. "The people looking for you needed something or better someone to blackmail you. You never stayed at one place. Moved to one country to another. They needed you to stay at one place. You are their target for years and they never got you. Until her."
Fay.
"Who are they, Enzo?" I ask.
He looks away from me, avoiding my intense gaze.
"Say it."
The time is running in slow-motion.
And his next words hit me like a bullet. "Your parents."
