It had been pouring all morning. The furious pitter-patter of the rain was intercut by occasional bouts of thunder. Despite the hectic scene outside, William's basement remained serene.
William's old Dinotek computer suddenly turned on by itself. Then, as if haunted by a ghost, it typed out this command:
">run 'extraction.exe'"
When that command was entered, the computer's black screen was suddenly being lined with green lines of code.
The sound of the rain hitting the house's walls almost drowned out the sound of dirt quietly shifting. One of the five dirt mounds on the ground started shifting slightly. As it did, little flecks of dirt fell off the top.
Whatever was buried inside the mound struggled a little to come out. It kept shifting from side to side, until-
CRUNCH!
A large mechanical arm suddenly shot itself out of the mound! Claws extended from its fingers as it unclamped its fist. Then, with a low SHIIIINK sound, long spikes emerged from its forearm...
