Epilogue

[after 2 months]

Everything continued like they were never in a toxic relationship. Like they never hurt her, never betrayed her, never broken her.

"Baby," Elias whispered, his arms enveloping her from behind, his lips grazing her neck. "I missed you so much, my love."

Iris tilted her head to the side, savoring the sensation of his warm breath against her skin. She turned around, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "It's only been half a day, you big gorilla," she teased, planting a quick peck on his cheek.

He glared at the new nickname she had taken to call them, his eyes narrowing with annoyance and intrigue.

Their days seemed to blend into each other, filled with tender moments and unabashed displays of affection. Jasper styled her hair each day, his hands gentle and skilled, while Elias showcased his culinary prowess by preparing her favorite dishes. Their love enveloped her, smothering her in a warm embrace.

And she loved it.

"Guess what, love," Iris whispered, her voice laced with excitement. "I've been given the green light to work on our IT infrastructure. Jasper thinks it's safer for me to stay at the mansion, but he's letting me dabble in our digital kingdom whenever I get bored."

Elias grinned, his eyes twinkling with adoration. "Ah, the lure of the Sinclair Headquarters. But who needs a stuffy office when you can have your kingdom within these walls?"

She only needs to stay by his side, in his safe abode, so no one could ever lay an eye on her. She will be only his and his brother.

After their heated argument, a chilling realization settled upon them both. Their shared obsession had to be veiled beneath a facade of normalcy, their dark desires buried deep within.

They couldn't afford; for Iris to suspect their true intentions or for her memories to resurface and shatter their meticulously constructed illusion.

She nodded, a playful glint in her eyes. "Exactly! Besides, I have the best colleagues," she said, locking her hand around his neck. Her touch sent shivers down his spine.

He loved her touch.

"Don't tease me unless you want to face the consequences," he nipped her ear.

"Why not?" she laughed, watching his eyes soften at her laugh.

Elias leaned in, his voice low and husky. "Speaking of colleagues, Peggy has whipped up some mouthwatering macarons for us," he whispered, his hand resting on her waist. "Shall we adorn them with our creativity?"

Iris's eyes lit up, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Oh! But only if you promise not to outshine me in the kitchen. I can't have my husband stealing my thunder," she teased, tugging at his hand.

He chuckled, their laughter dancing in the air. "I'll always be your loyal sous chef, my dear. Lead the way, madam!"

Hand in hand, they made their way to the kitchen, a realm where their playful banter and shared love for culinary adventures thrived.

Iris marveled at Elias's steady hand as he piped the creamy filling onto the delicate blue macarons. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy, admiring his precision and artistic touch.

"Now it's my turn," she declared, taking the piping bag into her own hands. With a flourish, she began adding her unique flair to the macarons, a touch of whimsy and love infused into every delicate creation.
