Dani's POV
I went inside the dark-lit room. He patted a chair next to him. God was he annoying, his mannerisms was as if I was a small child. I made my way closer and sat. "So what's the project?" I said. He hummed. He walked over to the large bookshelves and pulled out two giant, dusty, leather binded books. He placed them in front of me.

The Old Magic

Read one, and the other was in Latin. "vita tempore?" I read the book questioning my ability to read Latin. He smirked. "Yes. Life in Time is the direct translation but not exact. I need you to search through these and find anything related to blood rituals." He said cryptically. I sat back and looked at him. "For what specifically? What are we working on?" I sounded like a child.

He smiled. "It's a research project I'm conducting independently. You'll know it when you see it." He said firmly yet the smile never leaving his face. He was intense, and I had no intention on starting something with another Riddle. I nodded and opened the book. He took his quill and scribbled on a piece of paper. I found a part that spelled "Blood and Promises."

"This?" I raised an eyebrow. He smirked. "So bright." He mused clearly mocking me. I scowled. He took the book and looked at it and put a paper between the pages. He set the book aside and turned my chair aggressively to face him.  "So tell me. Why is it a girl like you joined the Dark Lord's army whores?" He cocked his head to the side. I furrowed my brows and a giggle escaped my lips. "That. Was funny." He smiled at my response. "Indeed it was. Now tell me." He demanded. His eyes having a dark green tint, looking at me like a prey to devour.

"Um... it was my father's wish. Well my supposed father... it's well complicated. Yet I didn't want to join. It was a mistake. I mean... after..." I chocked on my words. Memories flooded my mind and tears filled my eyes and I blinked to not let them spill over. He nodded and leaned closer. "He shouldn't have done that." He whispered and wiped away the tear from my cheek. He knew? Was I just a pity party here to be coddled? "How did you..." I trailed off. He sat back a cold expression masking his face.

"My father loves to inform me of all his latest adventures." He cleared his throat. His eyes kept looking into mine. I felt a shiver run over me. "Um... never mind about that. Let's get back to work?" I blinked the tears away. I felt a tightness in my throat holding back my tears but I had to be patient and careful. This man knew things and he wasn't my friend.

He blinked slowly as if he was diagnosing me. "Yes well, you are done today. That was all." He motioned towards the clock on the wall. It had been three hours. "How the heck-" I stopped myself. I was here for three hours. It felt like ten minutes. I jumped up from my chair. "What is going on here?" I demanded. A dark chuckle escaped his perfectly shaped lips. "Isn't that the question. You are free to go." He said. I grabbed my bag and rushed towards the door. "I'll see you tomorrow." He said softly. "No." I demanded. He chuckled. "Yes." He said firmly. I opened the door and rushed away.

I had muggle studies but walking into class would be so awkward there were only ten minutes left. I made my way to the library. I saw Blaise from afar sitting alone. I walked over to him. "Hey Dani boo boo." He smiled sweetly. The smile was contagious. "Hey baby boo!" I joked. I sat next to him. "Where were you? Riddle has been fuming." He sang. I rolled my eyes but the truth was he was probably right. Mattheo had a bad temper and jealousy wasn't his strong suit. "I had some extra credit work to do. It was boring." I lied. He nodded. "Here are the notes of what we did in class." He passed me his notebooks. I smiled. He was such a sweetheart. "Aw Blaise. Thank you." I said genuinely. I looked over the notes. I took a deep breath.

"He went over this again?" I pointed to the red circled notes. He nodded. "Sadly he loved to repeat himself."

We studied for a bit, until someone behind me coughed. A cough I knew. "Mattheo." I rolled my eyes and turned to look at him. "You had fun with my brother?" He asked in a cold tone. Blaise shot his eyes up at us. "You were with Tom?" He cleared his throat. Mattheo looked over at him. "She lied about it didn't she?" He crossed his arms.

"Seriously Mattheo?" I got up from my chair. He towered over me and stepped closer. "Sit down." He growled between his teeth. Fuck. He was so hot when he was angry. I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." I sat down. He contained a grin. "Good girl." He whispered over my head. "Now tell me what happened with Tom?" He pulled a chair and sat next to me placing his hand on my thigh.
