Chapter 31: Battle Begins

Kennedy scrunched her eyes open to see her leaning on Alcott.

Once they all woke up. They got ready to move on.

After driving for a while Kennedy spotted smoke from not to far away. "What's over there?"

"I don't know but let's stop." Ezbern lead the car over.

They drove towards what seemed like another town.

They parked the car heading inside.

There wasn't much around, just regular houses and small cafes.

"I don't think there's much here to see." Alcott said as they paused.

"Yeah, let's leave." Kennedy agreed.

"But maybe there's someone who could lead us to Callie." Theodore said. "I mean surely someone could've seen her, let's just try asking." 

"Did you just say Callie?" A man caught their attention.

"Yes we did." Kennedy thought maybe he knew something. "Have you perhaps seen her? Or know anything about her?" 

"Follow me." He gestured.

The four looked at each other quite skeptically but followed.

He took them to a small ordinary hut.

He began looking around the room 

"Odd but cute." Ezbern picked up a weird doll.

Suddenly they all flinched when the entire room began twisting and turning as the walls turned inside out.

Once everything had stopped moving, the small hut looked like a huge basement.

It was just barley fully lit by a small hanging light bulb.

That was when Kennedy realised there was no door to leave.

"Um is there and exit?" She asked.

"No" The old man chuckled.

Theo gulped putting his hands on Kennedy's shoulders.

"We should really get going-" Alcott furrowed his eyebrows as the man.

"Too late." Suddenly gas had started filling up the room and one by one the four fell to the floor passed out.

Kennedy dizzily lifted her eyelids to figure out where they were.

"Where are we." She groaned looking at her wrists which was chained to the wall.

They seemed to be in an underground dungeon.

"Why do we keep falling for these traps." Alcott coughed also waking up.

Kennedy tried using a few spells to wriggle out but nothing was happening.

"This place must have some kind of magic expeller." Ezbern tried breaking the chains but they were too strong.

Just then two men in metal armour appeared in the dungeon.

"Mind getting us out?" Theo asked politely as if they would.

But they completely ignored them going to Kennedy.

They unclipped the chains.

Kennedy stretched her wrists. "Who are you?"
