When Jen got to the store, it started to rain.
Luckily for her, she'd brought an umbrella.
She also, inconveniently, needed food for Marci, and this was the only store that seemed to be at least half empty.

Jen took a deep breath as she stepped into the pet aisle, which proved to be her first mistake: it smelled just like she remembered. A little musty, a little humid, and there was a lingering smell of dog kibble.
Fifteen minutes later Jen was still there.
