Draco had a bad morning once he woke up and found that she was no longer there next to him. He thought she would still be there, sleeping so peacefully, so he could admire her and let her have the rest she always needed. But all those things were just dreams that'll never happen.

He was sitting down at the dining table near the doorway to the balcony as the wind gently blew in, making the curtains sway. He was still quite in shock that she had just left him without any word or any letter anywhere. He hadn't even taken a sip of his coffee because he had a lot of thoughts about her.

He was supposed to apologize, but what happened?

She left him, that is.

He was supposed to tell her the truth, despite everything that might happen. He was going to fight for her if he was only given a chance, but the message was already clear enough that she ended everything with him — the moments they had and the feelings they once shared flew away like dust — at the moment she left this apartment without a word.

Now, he had no choice but to accept every decision she had made even if it tore him apart, tore him into millions of pieces.

Draco took a walk along the graveled path of the park, with his hands in his pockets and scarf around his neck to protect him from the cold. He knew he needed air. He knew he needed a place like this to calm his mind down and let him think. However, there was another piece of him that hoped that he might encounter her here. He knows how much she loves going to places that give her peace of mind and leave her responsibilities in a short time.

He sat down on the bench just next to the black old — but newly painted — street light and took one deep breath then exhaled afterwards. His thoughts were trying to make him dizzy. His thoughts were making him so weak that he couldn't even stand them any more. Then he heard a bark.

"Here, boy!" The little boy just in front of him — although, a bit far from him — was playing with a dog. The same dog breed that he has given her.

He watched them play and it made him bring back memories from when they were in Sirmione. The way she smiled was like sunshine or perhaps like an angel bestowed on him. He misses the way when he laid on her stomach and his arms were wrapped around her waist while she played with his hair as they listened to the tapping of rain on the window. He also misses the time when she tried to cook for him but she failed. He misses everything about her.

Those memories were the only things warming his lonely heart.

It was already dark when he got back from his apartment. He has placed his keys on the little bowl on the table next to the door as he slipped on his slipper. Then he turned on his lights only to see two men and a woman sitting on his couches in the living room, the woman was on the armchair whilst the men were on the three seated couches. Draco's heart almost dropped and almost screamed in fright, for he thought some burglars had entered his apartment, but it wasn't, it was only his friends from Hogwarts.

"Oh! Merlin's Heart!" He exclaimed, touching his chest. "You scared me."

"Well, you haven't responded to any of our letters since last month, even your mother's letter. So we didn't have a choice but to visit you here. I even thought you had changed address and never wanted to be found. Good thing you still live in the address written on your letters." Pansy scoffed.

"And we have just heard from your mother that you are in love with a muggle." Theodore laughed. "Never thought of you being in love."

"Your mother wants to meet her, mate," Blaise stated, with a grin that Draco finds annoying. "But since you haven't replied to any of our letters, there must have been a problem between you and the girl, isn't it?"

"I don't know what you all are talking about." He glared at them whilst taking off his coat and hanging it on the rack as he proceeded to the kitchen, which was only next to the living room with no walls separating it like an open area, to get himself some cold water.

He truly didn't like having visitors at this time, especially when they had come here just to talk about the lady that he loved, but now she hated him. Talking about her would just make him small again or make him want to crawl back to bed and never see anyone.

"Look, Draco." Pansy got up off the armchair and followed him then sat down on the tall stool at the kitchen island. "We are only here because your mother was worried, especially when you never wrote back to her, even your father was worried about you."

The word father made him stop from
getting the bottle of water from the refrigerator. He wasn't aware that his father was also worried about him. All that he has shown him is his tough, cold side. That is what he has grown up with.

"And in fact, he was also aware that you are in love with a muggle?" Blaise added as he also made his way to the counter, along with Theo.

"We never thought he would be happy about it. Mr Malfoy even wants you to invite her to the Malfoy Manor if you ever want to visit." Theo continued.

Draco blinked his eyes twice and shook his head to check whether he was hearing them right, or maybe...his father wasn't cruel after all.

"You're lying." He said as he took the bottle of water out from the fridge and drank it.

"Why would we lie?" Pansy raised one brow whilst her arms were crossed on her chest.

He still couldn't believe that his father had shown his soft side. It must've been his mother or maybe he has come to realize that sometimes, it is alright to show how he truly cared for him. All those years, ever since he became conscious of the world, his father would always tell him to toughen himself and make him proud. All he knew in his entire life was that he had never made his father proud, but all this time...he was always proud of him. He just didn't know how to show it to him.

"Now," Pansy began as he rested her elbows on the marbled table. "Based on your state, the two of you must have broken up. Could you tell us why?"

"No," Was Draco's sudden response.

"No?" Theo did not expect his friend to decline. "Why no?"

"Because I said so, you idiot." Draco snarled. "Why are you all even here? Why don't all just go back home and leave me be?"

"Draco," Pansy took a deep breath. "We are not leaving until you tell us what happened."
