The next morning came, Draco never left her side ever since she was admitted into a private room, waiting for a miracle to happen. He hasn't yet changed into the fresh clothes that his friends had brought. All he did that night until the morning sun rose was stare at her unconscious body and hold her hand. He didn't get a wink of sleep, yes, but tears always slipped from her eyes every time he thought of what the doctor said, "If we're lucky, it can only take months or perhaps years, but there are cases that she may not wake up. So the only best thing we could do is wait."

Why must I be tortured like this? He thought. Why's there no magic to heal her, to wake her up?

She had become a sleeping beauty that could never be saved by a kiss.

"Draco?" He felt Fatima's hand brush on his back. "Why don't you go home for a while and change some clothes? I can stay with her for a while."

"But she might wake up and find me." His eyes were still on her unconscious body.

"Draco, please..." She pleaded. "She won't like it if she saw you like this."

He only fell silent, thinking of Fatima's statement. Y/n wouldn't like it if she saw that there were still blood stains of her blood on his clothes. She might apologize for it even though it wasn't her fault for ruining his shirt, and Draco never wanted her to apologize for that. He didn't like her apologizing for the things that weren't her fault. It hurts him.

"You don't need to worry," Fatima assured. "She won't be alone. She has me, and later my aunts will be here any moment." Mrs Magindara and Mrs Badeaux went home early this morning to get her some things that she'll need during her stay at the hospital.

Maybe it wouldn't be bad if he went home for a while and freshened up a bit.

"Alright..." His voice still sounded melancholic as he stood from the chair, slowly letting her hand go, then left.

Draco didn't have much energy. It took him long to take a shower because he couldn't stop sobbing, thinking about her. He was just talking to her last night and the next thing was...she fell into a deep sleep, a deep sleep that may take months or even years for him to hear her angelic voice again, to see those beautiful chocolate eyes he adores. But the coma just made it all too complicated. It made him suffer. He wished that he didn't listen to her mother. He wished that he had told her the truth earlier so none of this would have happened. But what could he do now when it was all done?

He already suffered too much from breaking her heart, but why does he have to suffer again from a more devastating thing that could ruin a person's life? He was just so excited to see her last night, excited to embrace her, but that embrace turned into an embrace of tragedy.
