It had been a week since she left Draco's apartment and went straight to her aunt's house to get something to change and lend some of Fatima's make-up to cover all the love bites around her neck. Of course, her aunt was unaware of what happened, it was Fatima who had let her inside the house and helped her with everything she needed. It was really hard to cover all of the hickeys on her neck and it made her miss one of the events that she had to go to a few days ago. But luckily, it has already faded as time has passed by and was finally able to attend the event that she and her mother went to this evening.

Frederick and Y/n are taking a stroll around the garden under the shimmering moon and stars. They have decided to escape the crowded ballroom for a while and breathe the evening air. Y/n has taken him as a great friend, a friend that she surely knew would never share any of her secrets. Other than that, he has everything that every woman needs. He's handsome, kind, and quite a gentleman. He knows how to bring humour among the people. Although he may have possessed everything that every woman wants, she still doesn't consider or doesn't envision him as her beloved. He is only a friend in her eyes.

"You know, I'm truly glad that we're able to escape for a while. It was rather a lovely evening, isn't it?" Frederick stated.

"Yeah, it is what I always do whenever I attend events, such as this." She chuckled.

"But, may I ask something?" He turned to face her, walking backwards with his hands on his back, which made her chuckle.

"Sure, you may go ahead and utter whatever question you have in mind."

"I was wondering..." He paused. "Have you been in love?" This made Y/n stop in her tracks and her smile slowly dropped, which Frederick took notice of and stopped in his tracks too. "Are you alright? I'm sorry I asked the question. You don't need—"

"Yes, I have." She responded, which he did not expect. Although he wanted to hear more, Y/n preceded him into speaking, saying, "It's getting rather chilly now. Should we head back inside?"

As Fatima was walking along the hallway after he had just gone to the comfort room, she heard all too familiar voices inside a room that she happened to pass by and that made her stop her pace. She wasn't sure if she heard something or maybe she was only hearing voices. But when they spoke again, that is when she knew it was real and that she may know who these people were. Indeed, it was wrong to eavesdrop, but what can she do when she herself is a chismosa

So she approached the door and peeked through the tiny gap of the door, and there it was, Mrs Magindara and Mrs Badeaux, her aunts.

[A/N: I know I forgot to mention that their aunt's (Y/n's father's sister) name is Isadora Guadalupe Badeaux. Badeaux is through marriage, while Guadalupe is her maiden name. Thank you!]

"Glinda, must you really arrange her with that man she never truly loves?" Mrs Badeaux reasoned, convincing her sister-in-law to drop such an arrangement. "She is unaware of this!"

"She'll fall for him when time passes by." This was her only reply.

"Haven't you learned something from my brother, your husband? Isn't this what the two of you have fought that night before the accident?!" Mrs Badeaux scoffed.

Fatima has never heard of or seen her Tita so furious towards her aunt. However, she was rather shocked when she heard of this conversation, especially when she was aware that Mr and Mrs Magindara fought that night because Mrs Magindara wanted to send Y/n to a boarding school, and it turns out that...

"I know you wanted to send her to a boarding school in London just so to make it look like they met naturally, but no, you and his mother planned this all along." She added. "I know that you were the one who made Draco stay away from her."

"You know that she's an heiress, and therefore, she must marry someone who can protect her, someone on our level, Isa."

"But you knew she loves him. Draco, I mean."

"And she will learn to move on once Frederick and her stay together for long."

"You know what," Isadora took a deep breath, holding onto the long skirt of her gown. "I have enough of this." Then she started to walk off, causing Fatima to part her eyes from the door and run away to find somewhere to hide until she found a broom closet just nearby. Once she had shut herself into the small room, she slowly opened the door to make a tiny gap to let her shed a little light and also to see if her aunts had come out of the room.

Then there her Tita was, coming out of the room fuming with anger as she marched her way back to the ballroom, and after a while, her other aunt came out with gloom on her face, which Fatima did not expect, and also made her way back to the ballroom.

Now that everything was clear, she came out of the closet only to see Marc, who was startled when she suddenly barged out of the closet.

"Oh, Salazar's heart!" He said, touching his chest.

"And who the fuck is Salazar?" Fatima asked, confused.

"Nothing, really," Marc replied. "It was just— It was just an expression of mine. That's all. And why are you hiding in a broom closet? Are you hiding from someone?"

"No!" She declined nervously. "I wasn't. I was just...umm...trying to think someplace quiet...and small?" She didn't what she was saying.

"Like this broom closet?"

"Yes, yes." She effused. "Now, why don't we get back to the ballroom?" She grabbed him in the arm and led him back to the ballroom.

All the things that preoccupied her mind were that...she never thought she would witness something flabbergasting this evening, and she knew...she knew that she had to tell her cousin that she was being set up with Frederick. She has to know the truth.
