Hey, sorry the lack of updates lately since I've been busy with life stuff.

Brrrrrr! Brrrrrr! Brrrrrr!

I let out a deep sigh and put down the kitchen knife as my phone buzzed once again for the gods know how many times within a minute. I picked it up and saw once again another nasty, hurtful message from Rachel, calling me an self-centred egomaniac and a piece of shit for continuing on to play soccer. Then my phone buzzed once more, with another message from Bruce, filled with harsh, homophobic and insults. Normally I wouldn't let their bullshit get to me, but now, I couldn't help but feel upset. Those two along with Alice were also trying to convince Mom and Dad to settle with WWE out of court, or even fire our counsel. At this point, Dave didn't know who to trust out of the family, except me.

I put my phone down and continued chopping the vegetables I had laid out. Alex was out catching up with some of her close friends and she wasn't sure if she'd be home tonight. I thought about heading over to Kayla's place to hangout for a bit, but I decided just to stay home and chill out, or at least try to. Dave has been updating me on all of the lawsuit stuff while Brian was informing me of all of the bullshit at home. From what he's told me, Rachel has been complaining to Dave's lawyer about the money. Her selfish concerns revolved around the possibility that Mom and Dad could die before the case was settled. She knew if that were to happen, none of us would get the money that our parents were sure to gain from the lawsuit.

Even though Keith has remained silent about the entire situation most of the time, I knew he was still hurting about Jenny's death. Every time he saw Anna, he would get teary-eyed since she bared a striking resemblance to her mom.

My phone buzzed once again with another message from Bruce which made me tighten my grip on my phone in anger.

You and your fag girlfriend Alex are worse than dirt. Ego-maniacs, both of you.

I took a deep breath, my hands trembling slightly as I read Bruce's hateful message. It was clear that the ongoing legal battle was tearing our family apart, and I couldn't help but feel the weight of it all. As much as I wanted to ignore the hurtful words and focus on the positive moments with Alex, the toxicity of my family's situation was seeping into every corner of my life. Anger coursed through me as I threw my phone at the wall, watching it clatter to the ground, the screen shattering into a web of cracks. It was a futile act of frustration, but at least it provided a momentary release. At this point, I lost my appetite and left the chopped up vegetables on the chopping board as I grabbed my car keys and headed out of the house. I needed a break from the suffocating chaos of messages and family drama. The cool night air greeted me as I stepped out onto the porch, the city lights twinkling in the distance like distant stars. I got into my car and drove aimlessly, the engine's purr soothing my frayed nerves. I ended up driving to a quiet spot that overlooked Los Angeles, a place I often came to when I needed to clear my head. The sprawling city below seemed so peaceful from this vantage point, a stark contrast to the turmoil raging within me.

As I sat there in the stillness of the night, I couldn't help but reflect on the challenges that had beset my family. The lawsuit, the bitter disagreements, the hurtful words - it was all tearing us apart. I thought that once this lawsuit was over, we could put all of our differences behind us, but now, that seems to be a pipe dream.

A few days later.

"Move it up!" I yelled out.

Today was our first game back with the Stingers after the league took a short break. Even with most of the team out dealing with injuries, we're managing to get a solid win in. Al had hired Denise as our new head coach and she was organizing everything from the sidelines, her trained eyes missing nothing. I watched as she pulled aside one of the rookies, going over some game strategies with her, which made me assume she was making a sub shortly. You could tell the rookie was a little overwhelmed, but she was soaking up all the information, presenting her answers confidently.
