I woke up to find my Meera in my arms, her face snuggled in my chest. The sense of completeness and peace enveloped me, and I cherished the serenity of that moment.

I missed this feeling. I missed waking up to her presence, to seeing her lovely face beside me, and to adoring her with all my heart.

Despite my annoyance with her irresponsible behavior the previous day, I couldn't help but find her antics endearing. The way she sobbed at the beach and accused me of cheating, it was a mixture of frustration and cuteness.

Every little detail about her made me fall in love with her all over again.

I remembered a phone call from Vivaan, the one that had interrupted my work earlier.

FLASHBACK

I had just settled in my cabin, preparing to delve into some trading reports when I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in," I replied, still focused on the piles of paperwork in front of me.

"Good morning, sir. The report on Rhys Lasun," Vikram said, handing me a file with a yellow sticky note bearing the name "Rhys Lasun."

At last, I would find out more about this individual who had crossed our path. Bloody loser.

I opened the file and was met with a few pages containing extracts from a novel. Some lines were highlighted, leaving me perplexed.

"What's this?" I muttered in frustration and tossed the file back onto the desk.

"Sir, I swear on my mummy's life, I've had all our private investigators try to locate this Rhys Lasun man, but there's no such person in the real world. The only match I could find based on your description was a fictional character from a novel, known for being tall and enigmatic," Vikram explained, his tone a mixture of exasperation and understanding.

"Sir, I get that you might have a type, an inclination toward tall and mysterious men, but think about Mrs. Rajvansh. Imagine how she'll feel when she learns about it. Not that I don't support your choices..." He began to ramble, and I felt like banging my head against the desk.

"Vikram, out," I said with a sigh, and he huffed before leaving the room. Just then, my phone rang, and I furrowed my brows upon seeing Vivaan's name on the caller ID.
