She had asked Silas to meet her at the house, she sat on the front porch. She hadn't really thought the plan through, seeming as she didn't have a key anymore.

The weather was warm, and the sun cleared the sky. It had been awhile since she had sat outside and just enjoyed the air around her. It was peaceful, quiet. After leaving her mother's home Emery had a lot to think about.

She saw a sleek truck pull up, but it wasn't Silas. The car came to a screeching stop, and out popped his mother of all people. Emery stood, hoping today wouldn't be the day she actually had to beat the older woman's ass.

When Karla Brody saw Emery, her face softened. "I know the last time we saw one another I was horrid bitch to you" she started. "But I have saw over the last few weeks just how much my son loves you, talks about you, gushes over you like he's still a teenager" she paused.

"And I want toy give you my blessing, I want you to marry him. Make him happy, before—" her words hitched. "Before one day.. your saying goodbye" a tear fell from her eyes.

"He's told so much about you. And Emery I was like you at one point. Always running. Running from love, happiness, sadness, pain. Whatever made me uncomfortable. And you get so use to running because no one ever taught you to stay." She takes hold of her hands.

"It's time to stop running. Let yourself be loved dear. My son is a wonderful man, even though I spent majority of his life ruining his relationships. That was my mistake. I've learned a lot from losing my husband" she admitted sadly.

"And the main thing is: there is nothing wrong with being loved Emery. Its a beautiful thing when it's done right." Emery couldn't help but embrace Karla.

"I'm sorry about your husband. Mrs. Brody, and I'm sorry I've hurt your son" she told her. Karla nodded. "It's not my forgiveness you need love, it's his, and he yours"

Emery had been so hellbent on feeling sorry for herself. Being angry, that she was blinded by her pain to see that she wasn't the only one feeling it. She had been selfish, sure he made mistakes but so did she. Karla kissed her head, silently telling her goodbye.

Emery waved her off, she waited on the porch Silas had yet to come home. It was going on 5, he would usually be here earlier than that. Just when she thought to reschedule she saw his car appear. Coming through the gate.

She stood again, hoping she still looked presentable, she wiped off the back of her dress. Hoping there wasn't any dirt. Silas exit the car, he looked beat down and tired.

But when he saw Emery the light came back to this eyes. She smiled. "Hi there stranger" he greeted.

"Hey" she greeted back. There was an awkward silence between them. Neither sure how to talk to the other. "I went and talked to my mom" Emery blurted.

Silas looked surprised. "Really?" He questioned. She nodded. "Yeah, and I'm glad that I did." Emery admitted.

"That's good, we'll if that's all you came here to say—"

"No" she grabbed his arms before he walked away. "Silas, I love you. And I'm sorry for running away, for being selfish with myself. For constantly cutting you off, making you an outsider to my feelings." She placed his hand to her chest.

"I love you so much, and I'm so sorry for allowing myself to be broken." She told him, hoping he could see that she was serious.

"I'm sorry too" he confessed. "I couldn't handled a lot of situations in a better way. Especially at my big age, I could've communicated better—"

"And I couldn't listened better" she added. "I don't know if I'm ready to get married, or be a wife to someone." Silas head dropped. He knew this was coming.

"But I'm willing to try if you are." He looked at her, hoping she wasn't just saying things.

"This may sound corny, but can you ask me again?" She asked. Silas smiled dropping to his knees.

"Emery Smith, will you please marry me." She nodded, embracing him. Silas picked her up off her feet kissing her hard.

He missed this, her touch, taste, body heat. The way she seemed to mold perfectly with him, how their hearts always heated as one. He missed his sweet girl.

Unlocking the door with one hand, he kicked it open carrying her through the threshold. Ace barked in excitement seeing her home. He and his owner had been missing her like crazy, the moment she left she took all the light with her.

"Promise me Emery, no more running. Baby I can't take it if you leave out that door again" he sat her on his lap. She moved the strands of hair form his face.

"I'm not going no where Silas. Im yours; mind, body and soul. I'm done running" she told him honestly.

"Good because this whole Cinderella thing you got going is getting real old" he laughed. She laughed with him. "Fuck you, that Gemini shit getting old"

He shook his head. "Here you go again. You do know I can't help when I was born. Or my zodiac" he explained. "I know and I love you either way. I swear I do" just as he leaned in for a kiss her phone rang.

It was Tim. She sent it to voicemail, only for him to call her back instantly. "Tim?"

'Emery he's tried to kill her!' He cried hysterically. "What're you talking back?" She sat up.

"She called me earlier, Piper. She said she was leaving and now she's in the hospital." He explained. Emery shot up.

"I'm on my way" she got up. Silas was on her trail. "I'm coming with you" he told her. She smiled. "Good because I need you to drive"

Emery went through the sliding doors, into the hospital's ER. Silas holding her hand as they went. She went straight for the reception desk. "Excuse me Im looking for my friend her name is Piper Kingston" the woman typed in her name.

"Ms. Kingston was just released from surgery around a hour ago. Give me a few minutes to confirm if she can have visitors" Emery nodded. She looked around but didn't see Tim.

He must've been still on his way.
