This story is the same as the original anime. My character will be on his own journey as a Trainer and will try to win the Pokémon League.
(Please know that some chapters will be based on episodes from different seasons.)
On the way to Cinnabar Island, our heroes arrive at an open field and spot some familiar faces.
Niko: Huh? Is that...it is! Niko runs toward the group ahead. Hey, Ash!
Ash: Niko? Ash saw his friend running toward him. Hi! The two grip each others hand. Didn't expect to run into you here.
Niko: Me neither.
Pikachu: Pikachu? (How have you been Eevee)
Eevee: Vee vee! (Doing great)
Niko: That reminds me. Niko pulled out his badge case. Check it out. I have six badges now.
Ash: Me too!
FLASH
Niko: Uh!
Eevee: Vee?
Todd: Perfect!

Niko: Uh, who are you? Niko inquired.
Todd: Sorry. The names Todd Snap. I'm a Pokémon Photographer.
Niko: Pokémon Photographer?
Duplica: Sounds neat. So what are you guys doing here?
Todd: Well, I suggested that Ash get admitted.
Niko & Duplica: Admitted to what?
Todd: The Pokémon League Admissions Exam.
Our heroes make their to the location of Admissions Exam. There they hear an explanation from the head instructor.

Head instructor: Here at the Pokemon League Admissions Center, we evaluate applicants based on the combined written and practical skills exam. And those who pass receive this badge qualifying them for the Pokemon League. He explained presenting the badge. Take these. He hands Ash a number 7 and Niko a 23. These are your testing numbers.
Ash: Lucky seven! See, Misty? I have skills and luck!
Misty: A little modesty wouldn't hurt.
Oh no! I wanted number seven! Ash looks to see who said that. She looked familiar but Ash couldn't quite explain why. She sheepishly turns away and writes down on her application.
