Saanvi POV:

I woke up to stretch my body, but I couldn't move. I looked down to see a huge pair of arms holding me close. I blinked my eyes as I turned my head and realized I was on his lap. Wait, okay, so yesterday did I fall asleep watching a movie? Oh my god, what the hell. This never happened with anyone before. I'm an insomniac, and even if I sleep, I wake up due to some bad memories haunting me. How come I slept so peacefully now?

I struggled to get out of his hands, but they held me tightly. Due to my moving, he woke up groaning in his morning voice, asking, "Vie, what are you doing?"

"I need to use the bathroom, Aan," I said. He just hummed, loosening his grip on me, and I escaped to the bathroom. Splashing cold water on my face, I thought, "What is happening? It's not even been a day, then how come I became this close to a man? I have always had my guard on high alerts and will never sleep when a stranger is near me. How come I feel so comfortable with him?"

I sighed and went to the balcony, picking up my phone on the way. He was nowhere to be found, so I thought he must have gone to get his luggage. I dialed Vaish, knowing she is the only one who can give me the best advice now.

She picked up almost immediately, screaming through the phone, "How is Paris, babe?" I sighed, and she said, "Okay, come on, shoot. Tell me what's going on." I giggled a bit, asking how she knew.

She said, "I'm your adopted mother, remember." I chuckled, telling her everything that happened. She literally screamed into the phone, "What the hell, Anvi!" I said, "Shh, calm down, Vaish. I know I got myself into something like this, now what should I do?"

She said, "What do you mean, what should you do? Escape before he kidnaps you, and if he uses any dirty tricks, use your karate skills, girl." I chuckled, saying, "No, Vaish, he's not that kind of person." She sighed, asking, "So, will you let him stay with you?" I didn't answer that as I asked her, "Do you believe in past lives?"

She snorted; I bet I could see her rolling eyes. I continued, "I don't know, Vaish. I feel like I have known him forever, and it's like I feel complete in his arms. You know everything that happened in my life. I have never felt this safe and protected in anyone's presence before, Vaish."

She said, "I trust your instincts, Anvi. So, give him a chance then. Also, please be careful. You're my only best friend." I giggled as we spoke about the store for a bit and then hung up the call.

I turned around as he came in, startling me. I punched him a little, saying, "Aan, you scared me there." He chuckled, saying, "Sorry, that wasn't my intention." I nodded, going inside and asking "Where have you been?"

He said, "I went to get breakfast, and also, my luggage will be here by afternoon." I nodded, going into the kitchen to see what he brought. Croissants! I jumped, squishing his cheeks, and said, "You're the best, Aan." He laughed, and he had an amazing smile.

His deep laugh sound and a dimple on his cheek when he smiled, everything about him gave me butterflies in my stomach. I happily dug into breakfast as he asked me, "Vie, if you don't mind, can I ask you who were you talking to?" I raised my eyebrows as I saw jealousy in his face, so I asked, "Why do you want to know?"

He shrugged, saying, "I saw the caller ID saying 'babe,' so I wonder who it was. Was it the one you're going to marry?" Okay, this is fun. I controlled my laugh, saying, "What if it was?" His eyes darkened. From the first moment I saw him, I could sense his powerful presence. He has this intimidating aura, but to me, it didn't affect. In fact, I liked that, actually.

He said in the coldest voice, "So it was him, isn't it?" I laughed loud, couldn't control it anymore. He looked at me, asking, "Is this funny, Vie?" I shook my head, saying, "Aan, your face was so funny when you're jealous, you know that?" He turned to the other side, saying, "I am not jealous." I smiled, saying, "Oh, I bet you're not."
