"Hi, Ruth." Quinn said when Puck's mother answered the phone. "It's Quinn."

"Hi, Quinn." Ruth replied.

"I thought I'd call to invite you and Sarah to come visit." Quinn explained. "You're welcome to stay at the apartment, too."

"We'll come eventually." Ruth said.

"Eventually?" Quinn repeated.

"Sarah has school and I have work." Ruth clarified.

"I know that, but..." Quinn sighed. "What about a long weekend or something?"

"Our schedules are packed, Quinn." Ruth said. "And it's a long drive."

"What if we come to you then?" Quinn suggested.

"Doesn't Beth have school?" Ruth wondered.

"We could come on a Friday night and leave on Sunday." Quinn said. "Or Jake could babysit."

"Quinn, it's just not a good idea." Ruth responded.

"Why not?" Quinn questioned Ruth.

"There's a lot going on." Ruth noted. "For everyone."

"Right." Quinn agreed. "So talk to Sarah and figure out a weekend that works for both of you, and then let me know if you wanna come here or if you want us to come to you."

"Quinn." Ruth sighed.

"You haven't seen Noah since he's been home." Quinn stated. "He's doing really well, and I'm so proud of him. And I think you'd be proud, too. Besides, Beth wants to see you and Sarah."

"Don't use Beth to guilt me into coming." Ruth requested.

"Then come see Noah." Quinn said.

"If Noah wanted me there, he'd call me." Ruth argued. "He isn't shy."

"He hasn't called because he's embarrassed." Quinn clarified. "But he's been through so much and he's working so hard on healing from everything he's been through and forgiving himself and everyone else who's hurt him."

"You think I wanna see him like this? To see that my son turned out like-"

"Like what?" Quinn interrupted.

Ruth didn't say anything.

"Noah is a good guy." Quinn went on. "He's a good boyfriend and father. He's a good brother and a good son, and it isn't his fault that he-"

"That he was raised by me and James?" Ruth finished.

"That's not what I was going to say." Quinn insisted.

"Well, I'm glad to hear he's doing well." Ruth told Quinn before hanging up.

Quinn sighed as she pocketed her phone.

-

"Mommy, someone's at the door." Beth noted upon hearing the knock.

Quinn nodded and walked over to the door. She peeked out before opening it. "Come in."

Ruth and Sarah entered the apartment. Sarah said hi to Quinn before greeting the excited Beth and letting her drag her away.

Quinn closed the door and looked at Ruth. "I didn't know you were coming."

"It was sort of last-minute." Ruth nodded.

"I'm glad you're here." Quinn said. "But surprises aren't good for him, so if you'll excuse me, I need to call him."

Quinn walked away, going into her bedroom and closing the door as she dialed Puck's number.

"Hi, babe." Puck answered the phone. "Good timing. I'm actually on my way home now, so I was gonna call to see if you wanted me to pick up dinner."
