A lit slender cigarette lingered between Theo's rosy lips, which were flushed and swollen from the kisses that they'd shared earlier. He tilted his head back as he exhaled, the delicate haze of gray smoke dissipating into the atmosphere.

Vera was still in the pool, feigning that she was just appreciating the sun on her glowy tan skin instead of the gorgeous sight before her.

Theo was already out of the pool, had dried himself off and wrapped a white towel around his waist, still showing off his sculpted muscles. Truly, the boy seemed to be built like a Greek God. His hair was kissed by the sun, but still just the right amount of damp to change from a light honey-cinnamon color to this deep brown, small droplets of water occasionally slipping off the silky strands of hair when he moved. His legs were dangled in the water as he took another drag of his cigarette, tilting his head back again to release the smoke into the languid air.

Vera refused to admit it but a coil of warmth unfurled in her stomach as she watched him, making its way towards her lower stomach.

The girl swam towards Theo, resting her crossed arms and her head on one of his knees, looking up with him with her big brown eyes.

"Hi darling." Theo said sweetly, the ghost of his fingers on her flushed cheeks and tip of her freshly tanned and freckled nose. "Ready to dry off and get something to eat?"

"You always want to get something to eat." Vera said, pouting ever so slightly.

"Vera, you hardly eat anything." Theo countered, the use of her full name causing her to scrunch up her nose. "You need to eat something." He repeated, for what seemed like the billionth time to him.

While it was true that Vera had lost weight, the fluctuations were always normal for her. Whenever the girl would get stressed, she would either eat a lot more than usual, or a lot less depending on her anxiety levels too. Then, when she got out of that mindset and regained consciousness of her current physique, she would 'start over' and start consuming less at meals. Usually no one noticed because Vera was very technical about it.

Nothing seemed to evade Theo, however.

"Other than the dozens of pastries you made me eat this morning?" Vera laughed, brushing off his concerns. His brow remained furrowed but the girl caught the slight quirk of his lips that he tried to stifle.

"It's been hours since— and you have your charity work today." Theo argued, propping himself up on his elbows as he took another sweet and slow drag of his cigarette.

"The charity." Vera tantalizingly dragged herself up the steps of the pool and wrapped herself in a towel. "I have to go two more times after this." She said, the ignoring of her eating habits quite noticeable.

Theo narrowed his dark blue eyes, placing the cigarette in between his lips once more, slowly inhaling as he looked at the girl—and she contemplated quickly replacing the cigarette with her own lips with the way he was acting.

After he was done taking a drag of the cigarette, Vera took it from his hands, quickly placing in between her plump lips and inhaling before he could chastise her. She breathed it out, a sigh of relief as it calmed her down significantly.
