"Daddy where are we going?" Jihye asked as Jaehyun ran to the entrance of the apartment, with his daughter on his hips, both getting drenched in the rain
"Kira left her phone in the car baby, we won't see her before she goes to London so I need to give it back. Can't leave you in the car either" Jaehyun explained, pushing the apartment entrance door that surprisingly wasn't locked
"Do you know where she lives?" Jihye asked and Jaehyun sighed, stopping in his tracks
"That's a really good question" Jaehyun mumbled, realising he had no idea where to look. He sighed and took out his phone, wondering whether it would be too risky to call her brother who was still presumably stuck in the bathroom to ask what number his apartment was.
"You can look for her name on the letterboxes" Jihye suggested, and fireworks went off in Jaehyun's head as he scanned the several letterboxes to look for the names that were usually written along with the apartment number.
"Apartment 70C...Jihye please never stop being so smart, you're the best daughter ever!" Jaehyun said, planting kisses all over the girl's face making her squeal as he pressed the elevator doors. The button didn't illuminate, signalling that it wasn't working so Jaehyun opted for the stairs instead, rushing through the apartment complex before he could be seen by anyone.
"Seriously Kira-"
"I was only gone for three hours relax" Kira stated, letting herself into the apartment as Kai shot daggers at her, proceeding to help Taehyun clear the fridge
"Wait wait wait!" Haerin piped up from the living room, making Kira freeze in her steps
"The power just went out so keep the door open, Krit still has to come" Haerin explained and Kira nodded, placing a small delivery box between the door to prevent it from locking, knowing the electric keypad didn't stand a chance of working with the power cut
"That explains why the elevator wasn't working then" she said with a sigh as she took off her sleek black heels, entering the living room to find her friend group already there for the night. The room was highlighted by candles, several of them, to combat the darkness of the lights being cut.
"So how was your date~" Eunhye teased, with Sora giggling beside her and Kira rolled her eyes
"It wasn't a date!" Kira exclaimed, grabbing the can of cider Taehyun was extending out to her as he poured everyone a drink. The power was out, meaning the fridge was off, meaning most things had to be devoured within the next few hours
"You're literally in your date dress!"
"It was the only nice thing I had...plus I-"
"Kira?" The all too familiar voice had the group swinging their heads to the man in a casual suit, mask still covering his face, but he knew that wasn't going to do much since he was now in a room full of nctzens...with his five year old daughter in his arms.
"Jaehyun?" Kira asked, widening her eyes as she turned around to him, seeing him drenched from the rain, setting his daughter down immediately, and she was quick to hide behind her father's legs as she saw the stares.
"Y-you left your phone in my car" Jaehyun said with a small voice and she stood there frozen, not knowing how to cover up this situation anymore to her friend group who remained to stunned to speak
"What's going o-"
"Uncle Kai!" Jihye exclaimed, running towards the boy who had now appeared from the kitchen. He instinctively lifted her up onto his waist, surprised to see her at his apartment
"Jihye? What are you—JAEHYUN?" Kai exclaimed, widening his eyes at the man who stood infront of them
"Daddy...do you know uncle Kai?"
"DADDY?!"
"Jesus Christ, that's quite a welcome!" Krit said with a chuckle, appearing behind Jaehyun, a small package in his hand
"Jung Jaehyun?!" Krit exclaimed and Jaehyun sighed, bowing awkwardly back to him, knowing the situation was at its worst case scenario already
"Wait." Kira said, getting everyone's attention
"Krit please tell me that's not the parcel that was between the door" She said with a sigh, pleading with her eyes almost
"Well...I can't exactly deny such a thing but-"
"Are you serious?!" Haerin exclaimed from the sofa and everyone's eyes widened
"What?!" Krit asked with panic
"We're locked in!" Kira said, pushing past him, trying to push down on the handle to open the door but to no avail
"Wait let me" Jaehyun said, tense now as well as he pushed her aside lightly to attempt the same thing
"It's an electric lock so we need to wait for the power to be back on" Kira sighed and the group watched as the two conversed normally, still in shock with the whole situation that was unfolding infront of them
"Why would you have an electric lock?" He hissed, clearly stressed out
"Because all the new apartments come with one! It's meant to be safer-"
"Safer my ass, this is so impractical! I thought Korea was meant to be ahead of the tech game!" Jaehyun shouted, much like any dad when the situation was unfavourable. The group held in a little laugh at his statement that was accompanied by one of his neck veins almost sticking out in tension.
"Okay okay, just calm down...let's not freak Jihye out alright?" Kira said, reminding him softly that his daughter was still there, innocently in Kai's arms, a worried expression on her face as she watched her dad get angry
"Yeah...you're right" Jaehyun sighed, running a hand through his hair as he let out a sigh as his eyes glanced at the curious eyes from the living room
"They're my friends...they won't say anything" Kira said softly and he gave her a hesitant look, but nodded eventually, knowing there was nothing he could do.
"Guys this is...Jihye, the girl I babysit. And her dad, Jaehyun" Kira introduced, a warning glare coming from her eyes as she made sure her friends silently understood to not freak out infront of the kid
"Jihye, come sit with the girls" Sora piped up from the couch and Jihye giggled, climbing down from Kai's arms before running to the three girls on the couch.
"Hello gorgeous, I'm Sora, this is Eunhye and Haerin" Sora introduced and Jihye giggled, greeting them.
"Jaehyun...c-can I call you that?" Kai asked, still a little taken back by the situation but Jaehyun sighed and nodded, walking into the living room
"Have a beer, you need it" Kai said, passing him a can and Jaehyun chuckled lightly, popping the can open before thanking him.
"Okay, now that we're all here...why don't we start practicing for our debut?!"
"Kai seriously shut up!"
