"Alright, I've got to put this little one to bed" Jaehyun said with a smile, breaking Jihye's glance away from Emily
"Aww, she's great company" Emily smiled and Jihye waved a quick goodbye before hopping off her seat.
"I'll be back in a bi—"
"Wait hold on...am I drunk or...does Yoonoh look extremely familiar?" Kayden asked, making Kira's head snap to him
"Kayden don't be weird—"
"Didn't you have a poster of this guy in your room?" Kayden asked and her eyes squeezed shut, looking Jaehyun who honestly couldn't even laugh in the moment despite the statement
"What is it with my brother's betraying me these days?" She mumbled to herself as a tense silence took over the table. Majority of people had left to their villas while only the close family members stayed by.
"I should uh...get her to bed" Jaehyun said, quickly excusing himself, walking to their villa and Kira sighed, looking up at her father who had an unimpressed expression on his face while Kayden held a shocked one
"Okay...he's a singer. A kpop idol—and a really famous one at that...say anything you want at all, it won't change my mind about our relationship" Kira said with a sigh and her dad cleared his throat
"We know." He answered, making her look up at him
"We do?" Kayden asked, surprised that he was the last one to piece it all together. He thought he knew his sister the best. He thought they told each other everything.
"You do?" Kai asked with a shocked expression
"What—did you hire a private investigator or something?" Kira scoffed and her mother chuckled
"A quick google search of his name was enough to do the trick dear" She said with a voice of amusement.
"I mean—hiding the truth is one thing but lying...and getting him to lie as well I-I...who raised you like this?" Her father asked, taken back by her actions
"You did." She sighed, standing up from her chair
"Excuse me?" Her father asked
"You did. Because all the lying and hiding was because...I just didn't want to disappoint you" she said, turning around to leave the table
"Kira" her mother called, making her freeze in her place, listening to what she had to say even though she knew she shouldn't. But she hoped that this would be the day things turned around. But she was stupid to ever think that.
"There's nothing you could do to disappoint us more than you already have." Her mother's words hurt like a stab in the back. But she was more angry at herself for even wishing for a second that things were going to change between them.
She shook her head with a sigh, continuing to walk down the grass towards her villa, head racing with negativity and anger.
"Oh hey, I was just about to head back" Jaehyun smiled and she forced a tiny smile onto her lips
"They know" she sighed and Jaehyun's shoulders slumped slightly, watching her close the door behind him and take off her shoes and jewellery.
"Were they mad? Did they say something?" He asked with a slight frown, following her into the bathroom, slowly picking up the clothes she was stripping off onto the floor as she changed into one of his shirts—even though she brought a million pyjamas as well.
"Just that there's nothing else I can do to disappoint them more than I already have" she scoffed, shaking her head at her mother's statement
"They said that?" Jaehyun asked with slight surprise, and she sighed, turning around to face him as she leant on the sink counter
