"Okay, babe. Eat some more." Janet pushed the spoon away.

"Toni, I've eaten enough and you know I'm not dying, right?" Toni sat the bowl down.

"I know. I just want to make sure you good."

"I'm fine. Come sit with me."

"I can't. I gotta go pick up your new prescriptions. I told First Lady I would so she could..." Janet pulled Toni onto the couch.

"Calm down. There's still time. Just sit with me." Toni looked into Janet's eyes and gave in.

"Fine." Janet smiled and put Toni's arm around her. She snuggled into Toni's chest. Ever since Janet got out of the hospital a couple nights ago, Toni had been at her house. She didn't even go home. Her and Kenny slept in the guest room. At first, Janet's father wasn't too happy about it, but once Katherine made it clear that Toni wasn't trying to force Janet and was genuinely concerned, he eased up. He even gave Toni some clothes to change into while she was there.

Toni looked down at Janet as she played with her fingers. She was still a little worried about what she said at the hospital. She wasn't sure if it was because Janet was loopy or not and she didn't want to mess things up. She didn't want to force Janet or make her feel like she had to do anything she wasn't ready for. However, Toni did feel those things for Janet and she didn't realize it until she saw Janet in the hospital. "Babe."

"Hmmm."

"I want to ask you something." Janet sat up and looked at Toni.

"What's up? Is everything okay?"

"Yeah. I was just wondering something."

"What?" Toni looked at Janet and felt herself get tongue tied. Her feelings overpowered her and she was incredibly nervous. She'd never been in love with someone before. How do you even tell someone that? How do you express that you can't imagine life without them? Toni definitely wanted to do that. She wanted to say those things because that's how she felt. The words just wouldn't form to come up. "Toni. Is everything okay?"

"Yes, I just ummm...." She let out a breath. She couldn't say it now. Not in this way. It had to be special. "Do you want to go on a date?" Janet smiled.

"Of course. I'd love that. When? Ohh where are we going?" Janet got excited and it made Toni smile.

"Just be ready Friday night at six."

"Alright." Janet wrapped her arms around Toni's neck and kissed her. Toni pulled her into her lap and deepened it. She held her waist and brought Janet closer. Her tongue entered her mouth. Janet loved kissing Toni. She kissed just like the people in her books. She thought it was made up because no one ever talked about them.

They pulled apart and stared at each other. "I like kissing you." Janet said, causing Toni to laugh.

"You're so cute." Janet blushed and hugged Toni. She laid in her neck and giggled as Toni tickled her.

"Why do you keep tickling me?" Her words came out a little muffled.

"Cause you cute when you laugh." Toni tickled her again and Janet laughed.

"Alright, now." Janet sat up at the sound of her father's voice. "Let's put some space in between you two." Janet got off of Toni's lap and sat next to her. "A little more." Janet moved over. "Good." He laughed and went into his office. Janet and Toni laughed when the door closed.
"He's so overprotective."

"He's your dad and the Bishop, of course he's protective." Janet moved back over to Toni. As she got situated, she let out a small cough. Toni felt her chest. "You're breathing a little heavy, maybe you should lie down."
