Sarah stood taller when both Katie, and I walked over to her with our hands clutched in each other's grasp. Her face was filled with sorrow and nervousness before she was able to mask her feelings and bowed, not looking at us. "Alpha, Luna," she said, furrowing her brows while she stood again. "You... wanted to see me?" she asked and cocked her head, studying us.

"Yes," I confirmed and nodded. "Would you care to follow us into the room?" I asked and gestured for her to enter.

Sarah hesitated before she nodded. "Yes, Alpha," she said before she cleared her throat, opened the door, and entered the room with us following her.

Katie let go of my hand as soon as the door was closed and Sarah turned to face her. She didn't say a word and gave her a hug, much to my and Sarah's shock and amazement, and Sarah instantly hugged her back.

"I'm sorry, Katie," Sarah said, her voice breaking while she held her tighter, her voice barely above a whisper. "I am so so sorry."

Katie shook her head and held her friend tighter while she closed her eyes. "Don't," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Don't be sorry." She paused and cleared her throat while she closed her eyes. "I understand and am sorry, too."

Sarah grew still and pulled Katie away from her. She stared at my mate with wide eyes filled with amusement and happiness while my mate stared at her with wide eyes. "Did you say something?" she asked, trying and failing to hide the glee in her voice. "Did you talk?"

Katie hesitated before she shook her head, no, and her cheeks turned a different shade of red.

Sarah frowned and narrowed her eyes while she stared at my mate, even though there was a look of amusement in her eyes. "Are you lying to me, Katie?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

Again, my mate hesitated before she shook her head, no.

"Un huh," Sarah said, not believing her. She looked at me and raised an eyebrow, and amusement and relief filled her eyes while she stared at me, wanting to hear my opinion. "Alpha?" she asked and raised the eyebrow higher, silently asking me if my mate said something out loud.

I smiled amused and shook my head. "You scared her," I said and my mate looked at me with narrowed eyes, and her cheeks turned as red as her hair.

Katie shook her head and pulled away from Sarah and walked over to me. 'Liar,' she said, and I bit back a small snort while I rolled my eyes and scowled.

"Are you sure?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I pulled her into my arms. I placed a soft kiss on her head, and she smiled and closed her eyes while she leaned closer to me. "I mean, why else would she be asking me something?"

Katie shrugged and grimaced. She didn't say a word but gestured to the seats, silently asking if we wanted to sit down while we talked.

Sarah hesitated before she looked at me and then looked at my mate again. She didn't say a word before she slowly nodded and started to walk to the chairs in my office, and we followed, staying silent.

Sarah cleared her throat and sat down, with us sitting down in the other seat across from her. She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat while her cheeks grew red. "So, as I was saying. I am sorry for not telling you about me," she said. "I... thought you were human and weren't aware of the Supernatural world..."

My mate shook her head and cleared her throat before she shifted beside me. "Don't be sorry, Sarah," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's not your fault, and I understand."

'Play it off,' I said when I saw Sarah's eyes grow wide again and opened her mouth to say something about Katie speaking. 'Don't point it out.'

Sarah looked at me and slowly closed her mouth. She didn't say a word and subtly nodded before she looked at my mate again. "But I could have forewarned you, especially since we ended up in a pack," she said before she shrugged and grimaced. "And because you found your mate." She gestured to me, and my mate looked at me before she looked at her again.

"But it's against the code or whatever we have to follow so that all of us stay safe," I said and shook my head. "And I would have told her eventually, but I wanted to make sure that she trusted me before I spilled this huge thing."

Sarah hesitated before she slowly nodded. She furrowed her brows and pressed her lips into a thin line while she looked between me and her. "So... do you have any questions for me?" she asked and looked at Katie again.

Katie hesitated before she looked at me and then at her again with wide eyes. Her cheeks turned red while she cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. "Did you know that they were wolves when we first met them?" she asked, and I knew that she was talking about me and Parker.

Sarah's lip flickered into a small smile, and she nodded in confirmation. "Yes," she confirmed before she cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. "I knew that they were wolves when we first met them."

"Did you know that Daniel was my mate?"

She nodded in confirmation. "Wolves have very sensitive hearing," she explained. "I heard them say "mate" when they saw us, and I was scared but also protective of you so that is why I ran and had you run with me."

My mate cocked her head and furrowed her brows while she studied her. She didn't say a word, but I could tell that she wondered why Sarah had been protective of her and wanted to keep her safe.

Sarah cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. Her cheeks turned red, and she looked away from us. "Well, we, my wolf and I, thought that you were a part of my pack," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "We were a little pack, just you and me, and I wasn't going to let anything happen to you."

She looked at my mate again and gave her a wry smile before she bowed her head a little. "I guess a part of me knew that you were supposed to be my Luna," she said, "and a part of me is glad that you are my Luna, and I swear on my life that I will do everything in my power to continue to protect and serve you."

Sarah paused and cleared her throat while she bowed deeper, not meeting our gazes. "You have my word, Luna."
