A/N: I swear, my cats sleep in the weirdest positions.

Aunt Jess pushed me back some more. Her whole body was tense as she stared at the male before her. "I-I thought you were d-d-dead," she stuttered, her voice quivering. She shook her head and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "You can't be here. The fire..." She started to shake as she stared at him, and I could tell that she was pale as if she had just seen a ghost.

"I am alive, Jess," he said, softly. He took a step forward, causing Jess to take another step back while making sure that I was covered. He held his hands up as if he was trying to calm a caged animal, but that didn't seem to relax Aunt Jess. Pain flickered through his eyes when she took a step back, but he quickly hid it. "Please, I need to talk to you."

She shook her head and again took a step back. "I-I-" she began but was interrupted by someone yelling out 'Jess'. She looked at the person and a small sob of relief escaped her lips when she saw who had called her name.

Jesse scowled at the male in front of her. He placed himself in between her and the male. His whole body seemed to grow larger, and I couldn't help but be confused as to why that was so. "Who are you?" he asked, with a sound that sounded like a growl.

"I am Nikolai," he said. "Jess is my sister." He gestured to her. He didn't try to take another step forward, and I could tell that Aunt Jess was glad about that.

Jesse frowned and looked at Aunt Jess as if trying to confirm it. "Jess?" he asked, worriedly. He held out his hand when she started to sway a bit while she kept a firm grip on my arm.

"We need to go, now," she said, her voice breaking. She was trying to breathe, and I could tell that she was trying not to have a panic attack but was failing.

"Jess?" Nico asked, taking a step forward. He frowned, his eyes flickering with concern and worry. His whole body was tense as he glanced around before, again, looking at his sister.

"Stay back," Jesse said, pushing Aunt Jess back. He made sure that both of us didn't fall when he did so, giving us more space. "We won't attack if you do as I said," he said, baring his teeth like a Wolf.

Nico frowned but didn't move any closer. "Call Roger," he said. He gestured for the little girl to follow him, and they both left.

I frowned. I was confused as to what had happened, but I wasn't able to do anything about it because Jesse and the rest gestured for us to go back to the van. I could tell that they were hiding something from me, and I did not like it one bit.

After we got back to the house, Jess, Jesse, Macey, Sarah, and Joe went somewhere. I didn't know where they went, and I couldn't help but be a bit jealous because Sarah had gone with them and not I.

Andrew was with me, but he didn't try talking to me. He kept glancing at his phone and smiling about something. He probably didn't know sign language, and that might be the reason why he was ignoring me which sucked.

I was bored, so I just hung upside down and tried to entertain myself by making faces and seeing how long I could hold myself upside down before I turned myself right side up. My foot wiggled a bit as a catchy tune entered my mind, but I didn't hum it. I had been taught not to make a sound and that was something that I had followed.

"What are you doing?" I heard someone ask, causing me to shudder. I could tell that it was Daniel because he was the only one that made me feel this way. His voice gave me this feeling that caused my heart to skip a beat.

I looked up and sure enough, Daniel was staring at me with amusement in his eyes. I turned myself right side up and smiled. I was happy that he was here, and I did not know why my mood changed when he was around. I mean, I was sad when he was gone and happy when he was beside me. 'Trying to entertain myself,' I signed. 'Where were you?'

"I was having a talk with Mom," he said. He scowled, and I could see this unknown emotion in his eyes. "She is fine. She was just confused about something and needed to discuss it with people."

I frowned. I could tell that this might have to do with the reason as to why Daniel was hiding something from me. I did not like it that he was hiding something from me, but I guess he had to have a reason as to why. Didn't he?

"What are you thinking?" Daniel asked. He cocked his head, his blonde hair falling into his eyes. Worry filled his eyes, and I could tell that he was thinking that I was hurt. "Are you alright?"

I smiled and nodded, assuring him that I was fine. 'What are you hiding from me?'

Daniel licked his lips and looked around. He was nervous for some reason, and I did not like it that he was. His whole body tensed, and he shifted on his feet. He looked as if he was a kid that was caught doing something that he wasn't supposed to be doing. "I do want to tell you... believe me, I do. But..."

'But..?' I pressed.

"I don't know how you would react," he said, softly. He looked away from me and cleared his throat. "It's nothing bad. Really. I just... need you to trust me."

I frowned and looked at my hands. I didn't know if it had to do something with me or not, and I didn't like it. What if he was leading me on? I could feel myself like, no more than like, him, and I hated that I was falling for him. I knew that he was a stranger, but... it felt like I had known him my whole life.

"It's nothing to do with you, Katie," he said. "I'm... different, and I do not know how you would like my secret. I-I like you, and I don't want to scare you." He looked down and shifted on his feet. "I would like you to get to know me before I do... tell you." He cleared his throat. "So... would you like to go on a date with me?"

I felt my cheeks heat up and hesitantly, nodded my head yes. My heart fluttered in my chest, and all I wanted to do was shout for joy. This would be my first date, and I was going to be with a boy that I liked.

"She said yes, Daniel," Andrew said. "Go and have fun on your date."

Daniel muttered a soft 'yes' before kissing me on the cheek. "Wear something warmer," he said. "We'll be leaving soon but will be getting back when it is a bit chilly." He walked away, and I was sure he went to get ready.

I looked up and smiled before it turning into a frown. It was at that moment that I didn't know what I needed to wear on a date, and I was scared I might mess it up. So, I got up and ran off to find someone that might help me get ready because I really needed it.
