A light summer rain melodiously tapped the concrete Gyuri and Mina walked on during their journey to a restaurant in the city. The streets were glimmering softly because of the rain, making for a nice scene.
The two girls were on their way to a restaurant to meet up with the others. They hadn't seen each other since Byeongho's party and they felt it was about time they caught up again. Mina knew a nice restaurant that had recently opened, and everyone was eager to try it out over some alcohol and some well-needed conversation.
"We should've brought an umbrella," Gyuri said, glancing up at the sky as if to see how much more rain would be falling.
"Oh, come on. It's nice! A little refresher on this hot day," Mina said. She was right; it wasn't all that bad.
The restaurant wasn't too far and Mina and Gyuri were second to arrive, after Bonhwa. The girls instantly rushed to hug each other.
"Bon, how are you?" Mina asked. Bonhwa smiled sweetly. "Great, now that you guys are here."
"Awww," Gyuri and Mina cooed in unison. They took a seat opposite of Bonhwa so they could easily converse with one another. All of them were slowly becoming the adults they were supposed to be, meaning they were often too busy with work to see each other as a group. Mina and Gyuri had the advantage of living together, but apart from that they didn't see each other very often. Luckily, they still had texts and social media.
Bonhwa told the two girls about some of her recent endeavors. She had gone through a tough time after Byeongho's party but was slowly making peace with the fact that he was dating someone. That was the thing about Bonhwa; she was a realist.
The girls enjoyed a round of drinks before Dongwook arrived, who had gotten caught in worse rain than Gyuri and Mina and was looking like a wet cat. He excused himself to the bathroom right after greeting his friends.
"Poor guy," Bonhwa commented with a chuckle as they watched him walk off, his wet hair and clothes leaving a trail on the floor.
"Yeah, I had no idea it was going..." Gyuri trailed off as she noticed movement outside. There was a couple, running while trying to shelter themselves from the rain under the boy's jacket. Mina followed the girl's gaze and furrowed her brows. "Is that..."
The couple turned the corner, entering the restaurant. That is when their faces came into view, confirming the girls' suspicions. Byeongho and his girlfriend were laughing as they brushed their wet hair back, overwhelmed by their sudden run through the very unexpected rain.
"Oh..." Bonhwa breathed out when her eyes fell on the couple. Dongwook exited the bathroom and observed the scene, his eyes widening slightly. He had the same reaction as Gyuri and Mina by instantly turning to look at Bonhwa to see if she was okay, but Bonhwa was Bonhwa. She swallowed once and then plastered a kind smile on her face when Byeongho and the girl reached their table.
