"Cassie, will you except this promise ring?"
I let out the breath I was holding, but am still stuck in silence.
"Baby?"
I start nodding my head vigorously when I'm snapped back into reality.
"I'm taking this as a yes because I swear I'll cry if it isn't." He grabs my hand and I laugh through a few happy tears.
"Yes Luke."
He slides the simple yet perfect knot ring onto my finger, and I can feel his love wrapping around me. A perfect fit.
He stands up and hugs me, then Ashton walks over and grabs us both while jumping up and down.
"I AM SO HAPPY! This relationship is so crazy and unethical and rollarcoastery but I love it! I love you guys so much oh my goshhh!" He shouts and swings us back and forth.
We're all laughing and it's one of the best moments ever until I get really dizzy and almost fall, Luke catching me before I do.
"Babe?"
"Cassie?" Ashton quickly helps Luke sit me on the couch gently.
"I-i don't know what's happening." I breathe and put one hand on my head and the other on my stomach- the places it's hurting.
"What's wrong? Is it the baby?" Luke asks and Ashton's eyes go wide.
"Um, maybe I should call for emergency."
I quickly shake my head but then hiss in pain. Bad idea.
"Please Ashton, hurry!" Luke panics and holds onto my hand, brushing my hair away from my face.
"Luke-"
"Shh, you'll be okay baby. It'll all be okay."
"I'm sorry Luke." My quivering voice shakes even more.
"There's nothing to be sorry for, what are you on about?" He stares into my eyes and I can't help but wonder why I fall in love with those eyes every time they meet mine.
"Just please don't leave me Luke. I-i love you." I quickly hold onto my stomach tightly, feeling an even stranger pain and groaning.
He looks at me helplessly and he looks like it's hurting him too.
"I love you too, and I promise I'm not going anywhere. I've got you if you've got me love."
"I promise." Were the last words I uttered before I saw lights outside, closed my eyes, and blocked out all pain and consciousness.
