It's been a week since Lauren walked out of the apartment you both owned. You were worried sick but knew she had a good head on her shoulders and that she's probably safe somewhere.
You tried texting and e-mailing her but she never replied. You continued to go to work but everything felt useless and you didn't want to do anything but see Lauren.
Ariana apologized for unexpectedly showing up in the morning and kept blaming herself for the 'breakup' but it wasn't all her fault.
The last thing Lauren said to you- which was by text was, 'I need a break.'
It hurts to feel this way and this is the exact reason why you never wanted to trust or fall for anyone after Casey left.
You were currently on your lunch break and didn't want to go home to have your free hour because it reminded you of what happened so you spent your lunch at the café.
You got a muffin and Green Tea.
When you took your usual spot by the window, the familiar girl was across the room. There were many people there but you could still see her in the distance. You both kept glancing at each other and smiling until she stood up and made her way toward you. You weren't expecting that but she sat across from you in the booth and smiled.
"I don't think we've introduced each other yet." She said smiling, "I am Jade." She had long brown hair and she had a beautiful smile.
"Hi.. I'm Y/N. It's nice to finally meet you, Jade." You said. She took a sip of her Vanilla Chai Tea before speaking again.
"Yeah. We finally met. I mean I figured we'd meet sooner or later." She said. She chuckled when she finished her sentence, sending shivers down your spine.
The rest of your lunch hour was spent with Jade. You both talked about puppies and the food at the café. When the hour was over, she said she'd most likely be there the next day.
"So.. Who was the new girl you were talking to?" Ally asked causing you to blush. She knew about you and Lauren.. She was just glad to see you smiling again.
"No one.. She just wanted some company." You told her. She smiled and watched you.
"Just company? You two weren't throwing glances at each other all week?" She teased you. You just smiled and shook your head slightly.
"Well- well.. We're not even friends Ally- I mean now we are.. I think." You told her slightly confused. She laughed at you and began wiping the counter with a cloth.
"Yeah... Friends." She said laughing. You laughed with her and decided to help her make bagels and cookies.
The day went by slowly. Not very much people came in so Ally let you get off early. On your way home, you bumped into Jade again.
Literally.
"Oh my god- Y/N? I'm so sorry." She said immediately, when she spilled her yogurt on your shirt. She had just walked out of an organic store.
"It's fine." You said but she still looked worried and guilty.
"No, its not.. Let me take you to my place to get you cleaned up. It's just across the street." she told you. You could tell she felt extremely bad so you agreed.
"Yeah, alright." You told her and she smiled. When you both got to the cross walk it only had four seconds left but she grabbed your hand and you both ran across the road, laughing a guy that yelled 'Get off the road!'
When you crossed the street she pulled you to where her apartment had been located. The both of you still holding hands.
Something caught your attention though. Lauren was at the bus stop watching Jade pull you to her apartment. You stopped running and sort of just let Jade actually pull you as your eyes met Lauren's.
She looked hurt and looked away. You stopped Jade from pulling you, making her look at you. Her smile disappeared making you feel bad.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"I gotta go. Like right now. I don't mean to bail on you I just-" You were explaining but she let go of your hand.
"Go ahead. You don't have to explain." She said smiling. You smiled at her and thanked her.
When you turned around, the bus was leaving and Lauren was watching you through the window.
The bus leaving wasn't gonna stop you from trying to get Lauren so you began running.
After chasing the bus to its next bus stop which was three blocks away, and almost being hit by a car, you finally got onto the bus and sat next to Lauren.
"Hey." You said to her. She looked at you before walking out of the bus. You followed behind her and walked next to her.
"What do you want?" She asked in a harsh tone. She stopped walking and was now looking into your eyes. She looked angry. You didn't say anything, a little taken back at the outburst.
"I got somewhere to be so if you're not gonna say anything, just tell me." She said before walking again.
"I want you." You said simply. You didn't move and just watched her walk. She slowed down until she came to complete stop and turned around.
You walked toward her slowly.
"It was always you. You, you, you. We may be done or taking a break but you're the one I thought about at midnight for hours and hours. You're my person Lauren. I want you. No one else." You said. She was in awe and her mouth was slightly open.
Suddenly, her lips were on yours and everything went blank. You cupped her face and smiled when she pulled away.
"I missed you."
"Me too."
"Why do you have yogurt..? all over your shirt?"
