the sun was shining down on you, and you wanted to turn it off. it was damn hot.
"shit" you paused suddenly, receiving a questioning look from tanjiro.
you huff out,
shit.. i forgot about haganezuka... can i just let tanjiro go by himself to cool him down?
you pondered the idea before groaning out, deciding tanjiro would hate you if you did such a thing.
tanjiro just shook his head as you began to walk again. he had decided recently to stop questioning the things you did, because really there were no answers.
you're just strange.
the two of you continue, you heavily dragging your feet and thinking over the many ways in which haganezuka might kill you.
while tanjiro hadn't thrown his blade, both yours and his were quite badly chipped, and even a minor stain on your blades was worth execution in haganezuka's eyes.
the two of you freeze as you approach the butterfly estate, spotting the male in the distance.
he looked even angrier than you remembered in the show.
he had his usual mask on, except this time his hair wasn't covered by the white cloth and honestly you wanted to touch it. his shirt was slightly open, revealing his deliciously toned muscles that you could totally reach out and stroke right now.
strapped around his head was two glimmering knives, along with another two in his hands.
your smirk dimmed at the reminder.
"you little fools! what's wrong with you both, damaging your swords?! that deserves death! death!"
you scream as he begins to chase you both, knives raised high.
"we're sorry! we're sorry!" tanjiro screams as you both make a mad dash away from haganezuka.
"we're really, really sorry!!"
"WE'RE SORRY!!" you screech, pushing your legs to run even faster.
haganezuka chased you both around until nearly dawn. up and down trees, running laps around the small area. you were sure he nearly chopped down a tree at some point, the poor log being littered with knife marks.
if you looked closer you were sure you could see a small diagram of haganezuka stabbing both you and tanjiro like a meat skewer.
aoi had finally come out and brought you both inside after haganezuka had been restrained and calmed down, leaving you both utterly exhausted.
"HE SAYS THAT THEY GOT CHASED BY HAGANEZUKA UNTIL CLOSE TO DAYBREAK"
you look down at your plate of food tiredly, neither you nor tanjiro had touched your food, too achey to even pick up your forks.
"so that's why you both aren't eating?" inosuke had his boar mask sitting on top of his head as he was sloppily chewing in his food like usual.
inosuke snatched both of your plates, munching them up hungrily. you give him a glare. you still wanted your food, you just didn't want to eat it.
"if aoi hadn't calmed him down for us, he would've kept chasing us until noon" tanjiro says exasperatedly. you nod in agreement.
aoi rolls over a tray holding more food, "would anyone like seconds?"
"gimme!" inosuke shouts.
"aoi, thank you for yesterday. you too, sumi, kiyo and naho" tanjiro smiles thankfully, you nod along.
"don't mention it, it was nothing" aoi scoops inosuke another bowl of rice.
"what's haganezuka up to now?" zenitsu asks.
"haganezuka? oh, he's sitting in the veranda, eating rice dumplings"
"and it seems like he's finally back in a good mood!"
you sigh out in relief, not fond of being turned into a kebab like the picture he drew.
"thank goodness"
"rice dumplings are haganezuka favourite food!" sumi says happily.
"next time he starts fuming, you should buy him some"
"i want to have some, too!" insouke shouts through a mouth-full of food.
aoi smiles, "fine, i'll go get you some later, alright?"
you smirk evilly,
