After my talk with Garrett he immediately sent over the Law Firm's information. He scheduled an appointment with the lawyers so all we had to do was show up. There was only one problem, the law firm was Haufman & Levine, where Jonathan worked. I didn't have time to tell Martha I was over here and I was too wound up thinking about making a good impression that remembering where Jonathan worked wasn't my priority. It didn't dawn on me until I started getting ready this morning. I made sure to dress as expected, clean shaven, suit, tie and nice shoes. There wasn't a speck a grease on me.

Dealing with Jonathan was the last thing on my mind. I was here to handle business not deal with an ass hat that equally had a burning hatred for me as I did him. Taking a few deep breaths I made my way out of the car and towards the building with files in hand. I brought over everything I used to present to the board besides a power point. I figured if the board of trustees saw my potential then the lawyers should as well.

Ahead of me I see Garrett at the receptionists making conversation. She beamed up at me as I strode in directing Garrett's attention. "Welcome to Haufman & Levine, what can I do for you today?" She batted her eyelashes and propped her chin onto her fist with a sly smile.

"Oh he's with me." Garrett interjected

"Oh you two look like quite the powerhouse. Haufman and Levine are sure lucky to have you two." Her typing was the only sound filling our ears due to the lack of buzzing within the lobby.

"Here you are and 15 minutes early, perfect." She handed us both a visitor badge, though it was hard to ignore the lingering of her hand on top of mine. "You can take elevator 3 to the 19th floor." I pulled back immediately, fixing my suit jacket and tugging at my tie slightly, "Thank you."

I felt a snicker beside me as I walked, "Shut up," I grumbled.

"I didn't say anything." Garrett defended coughing into his fist.

"How is it that your flirting gets me hit on?"

"Can you blame her? Two handsome men walk into the building, I was chatting her up for 15 minutes before you showed up."

"You're gay." I deadpanned.

Garrett put his hands up, "What, I'm not allowed to make a friend." I saw past that innocent act.

I scoffed pressing the 19th button in the elevator, "Does she know that?" Garrett had this way of attracting the female attention without even meaning to. The minute he realized they were flirting with him, he would amuse himself and play along until he had to let them them down and tell them they played for the same team.

"You should have seen your face. I thought she burned you." Garrett chuckling to himself.

Before I could retort, a feminine voice screamed. "Hold the elevator!"

My fingers moved quickly to find the button to open the doors when a woman with almost jet black hair, red lipstick and very tight business clothing stumbled in with files in hand. "Thank you." She said as she tried to catch her breath. Garrett subtly moved toward the back of the elevator giving her space.

"No problem." She's in the middle of adjusting her hair when she looks towards the numbers and doesn't press on anything.

I guess we're going to the same floor

The silence on the way up gave me time to go over all the main talking points within my head.  I was more than aware of my status here; they saw me as a nobody. I don't have the credentials that most of their clients do. However, I believe my experience of being a mechanic makes me the perfect candidate to understand the company better than a random business hire. Someone who didn't understand the workers or the time and effort it takes going into fixing cars.
