Cam's POV
As I stood here, staring at this almost new baseball. "This...this looks familiar," I say.
Christian comes to my side. "I assume it would you loved playing baseball with one of your friends back in college," Christian declares.
As those words flew from his mouth, my mind started to feel fuzzy along with the ball emitting a red light. I shield my eyes once more to block out the light. I open my eyes to find myself lying in my old dorm in college. Even though I knew it was a memory, everything still felt very real to me. I look down to see I'm only in my boxers and a tank top. Suddenly, someone comes barging in. I look to see it was my roommate and best friend while at college, Matt, in a towel with still wet hair. I shoot up and look in shock. This is a memory. As much as knew this, all I wanted to do was just hug him and tell him that it's miracle it was a miracle.
"Cam, dude. You need to get up and get ready. We have class in ten minutes," Matt yells, throwing clothes at me. "Hurry!"
I quickly put on the clothes while he gets dressed. He throws me my backpack and drags me out of the dorm. "Dude, are you okay. You look like you just saw a ghost," he jokes. If only you knew. "Hey, you still up for playing catch later today," he asks me.
"S-Sure," I tell him.
We are heading over to our classes, now standing in front of my Psychology class. "Okay, I'll see you after class," Matt says, fist bumping me and heads to the lecture room right beside mine.
"So, how's being back in college going," Christian says, scaring me.
"How has this made an impact on me," I ask him.
"I don't know yet," Christian answers. "I guess we'll have to wait and see."
Class went by slowly. In all honesty, I wasn't really paying that much attention. I was too busy going through this way too real of a memory. The frustration of trying to remember how this day was impactful was painful to do. I grab my head in slight pain, feeling a headache coming on. "Mr. Elder, are you alright," my professor asks.
"Y-Yeah," I stutter out. "I just have a slight headache. Please, keep going."
The professor nods and continues with her lecture. A student beside me leans over and whispers, "Hey, you sure you okay? This is your favorite class and you seem really out of it."
"I'm fine," I say softly. After a few more minutes, class finally let out and I walk out to be met with Matt waiting for me.
"Hey, want to get something to eat," he asks me.
"Sure," I respond. He nods his head and we make our way to the dining hall on campus. We quickly get some food and head to an empty table.
"So, how'd class go," Matt asks me.
"I actually can't remember what happened," I tell him. "I kind of zoned out. What about you?"
"Oh, mine was completely boring," he responds. "I mean, maybe if I could understand like five words of what my professor is talking about, I might actually like it."
"I told you not to take him," I playfully scold.
"Ugh, why didn't I listen to you," he says, giving me a defeated gesture. I lightly giggle at him. "Hey, what's so funny?"
