Connor’s POV

“Who was it,” Ricky asks me after I hung up the phone.

“It was Joey,” I tell him. “It suddenly got quiet, I heard him say something away from the phone and the next thing I knew; he said he’d call me back.”

“Aw, okay,” Ricky says. “So, you want to finish up on this TV?”

“Sure,” I tell him. I walk over to the TV and Ricky and I quickly finish up. After we finished, Ricky and I sit down to relax and see if the TV works. I pick up the remote and turn the TV on. “What do you want to watch?”

“I’m fine with anything,” he tells me.

“Okay,” I tell him. I start flipping through channels and I stumble upon SpongeBob Squarepants. “You okay with this?”

“I’m fine with this,” he tells me. “I love this show!”

As we watched the episode, Ricky and I laughed hysterically from start to finish. When the episode ended, we had tears in our eyes from laughing. Out of breath, I said, “Man, that episode was funny!”

“Seriously, that was hilarious,” Ricky says.

“Yeah,” I say still laughing a little, placing my hand on his shoulder, trying to calm down.

Ricky looks over at me and we’re face to face. I could feel his breath on my face. My body became warm and my arms felt weak. Looking into his eyes, I don’t know how, but I could sense the same feeling from him. My body starts to lean into him. What am I doing? His eyes grew wide. “Co-Connor, what’re you doing,” Ricky asks nervously.

“I, I don’t know,” I tell him. As our lips are about to touch, my phone rings. We jump out of our daze and quickly scoot away from each other; out of breath from our moment. I quickly grab my phone and answered it. “He-hello,” I say.

“Hey, it’s me again,” Joey says. “Sorry, I hung up like that. An old friend just showed up by surprise.”

“Oh, okay,” I tell him. “It’s okay.”

“Hey, you okay? You sound a little off,” Joey asks concern.

“I’m fine,” I tell him. “I’m just exhausted from today, you know?”

“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Joey says. “So, how are yours and Ricky’s YouTube channels coming along?”

“Good, but we’re not really doing that well,” I tell him.
