Ricky’s POV

“Connor, are you sure,” I ask. I could feel my emotions building up inside of me. However, I needed to stay calm so Kian wouldn’t notice. After Kian kissed me on the cheek, I saw the color of his skin instantly turn white. I knew that killed him, but what could I do. I need to make a decision.

“Yes, I’m 100% sure. I just want to get out and make it easier on Joey and Cat. It’s just becoming too much for me,” Connor words shoot through my heart like a silver bullet.

“Joey, I think I came at a bad time,” Sawyer says. “I’ll talk to you later.”

Sawyer starts walking toward the exit. “Wait up,” Connor says. “Cat, can you come with me to talk to the manager here at the apartment complex?”

“Yeah,” Cat says. “Let me just get my money.”

“Okay,” Connor says. “I’ll be waiting with Sawyer at the elevator.”

Connor starts walking to the door with Sawyer beside him. I walk up to him and grab his shoulder. “Connor, I…” I say, but was lost for words.

“Ricky, I’ve got to do this,” Connor says. “There's just too many people in this place. I need to have my own place. I need to be alone.”

Those last words hurt, but he had the right to say that. Before I could say something, Connor was already out the door. Leaving me feeling cold.

Connor’s POV

I start walking towards the elevator with Sawyer behind me. I could feel my tears build up inside me, but I didn’t let them escape my eyes. When I got to the elevator, I instantly wiped away the tears. Sawyer walks up to me with a big smile on his face, but when he looked at me, that smile faded away. “Hey, are you okay,” Sawyer asks.

            “Yeah,” I say. “I’m fine.”

“Are you sure,” Sawyer asks. “You didn’t look fine while you was in there. Especially when Kian kissed Ricky.”

“W-What are you talking about,” I ask.

“Connor,” Sawyer says. “Looking at your face right now and how you just stuttered, I believe there’s more than what you are letting on.”

“I-I….” I try to think of an excuse, but couldn’t.

I feel a hand on my shoulder. The touch sent a bolt of electricity through my body. I look up to see Sawyer looking me directly in the eyes. “Connor, I’m assuming you and Ricky had a past,” Sawyer says. “Let me see your phone.”
