Connor’s POV
“Hey, Ricky,” I say feeling a mix of happiness, sadness, and anger.
“Hey, can I come in for a minute,” Ricky asks.
“Now’s not a good time,” I say.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Ricky says. “I just want to tell you that we don’t have work today.”
“I know,” I say trying to move this conversation along.
“Oh, how’d you find out,” Ricky asked.
“Sawyer told me,” I say quickly.
“Oh, so you talked to Sawyer today,” Ricky says.
“Yep,” I say.
“Connor, who’s at the door,” Sawyer asks hearing him walk to the door.
“It’s Ricky,” I say.
“Oh, Sawyer’s here,” Ricky asks surprised.
“Yeah, he got here a few minutes ago,” I say.
“Hey, Ricky,” Sawyer says with a sweet smile.
“Hey, Sawyer,” Ricky says with a weak smile.
I could see frustration in Ricky’s face. “Sawyer, can you go back to the couch. I’ll be right back.”
“Sure,” Sawyer says with a wink and walks back to the couch.
“Let’s talk in the hall,” I say. Ricky backs up and I close the door behind me.
“So, what do you want to talk about,” I say leaning up against the wall.
“I just wanted to see how you are doing,” Ricky says.
“I’m great,” I say trying to sound honest.
“Oh, good,” Ricky says. “I’ve been rather concerned because you’ve been distant with me and Kian.”
“Ricky, we both know why I’m avoiding you,” I say with annoyance in my voice.
“I know,” Ricky says. “It’s just…I still don’t know what to do.” Ricky grabs my hand. “I like you, but I like Kian too. Kian’s always been there for me. He gets me.”
