Movie Summary:

In the very beginning of the movie we see a teen boy hiding from a vampire who has just killed his whole family. The teen is also killed with his family.

High school student Charley Brewster is a normal teen living in a perfect little town in the middle of the dessert. He lives with his mom, and is dating a popular girl in his grade.

Charley goes to school like any other teen with his girlfriend and her friends, but when he is alone, he is immediately confronted by his old geeky friend. He threatens Charley that he will post an embarrassing video of them playing nerdy games a few years back on the web unless he goes with him to their other old friends house (teen killed by vampire in first scene) Charley agrees, fearing his newfound popularity will be lost.

After school Charley goes back to his home with his girlfriend, where he meets his new neighbour Jerry talking to his mom. All three of them take a liking to Jerry. After saying by to Jerry who works at night Charley’s friend texts him the video saying it will be post unless he comes to the house right away. Charley leaves quickly and the two break into the dead teens house. The house is completely clean, and free from bodies. While his friend walks around the house with a wooden stake and cross, he tells Charley his neighbour Jerry is a vampire. Charley does not believe him and goes home. His friend however is attacked by Jerry and turned into a vampire.

The next day Charley goes to school and notices his friend’s absence, he goes to his house to find him ‘out’. Charley snoops through his room, and finds video’s of Jerry, only Jerry is not visible in the video’s just his actions. He begins his own research on vampires on Peter Vincent’s website. Peter is a magician, and vampire slayer.

That night Jerry asks for some beer for a girl he is having over. Charley gives him the beer, making sure not to invite him in. He believes Jerry is a vampire. When in his room, with his girlfriend, he notices the ‘stripper’ across the street is going into Jerry’s house. He is worried for her safety and his girlfriend leaves, upset at his lack of attention toward her. Later that night, he hears a female scream from Jerry’s house and calls the cops. However they don’t find anything suspicious, they leave and moments later, Jerry leaves. Charley takes the opportunity and sneaks into his house. He takes a picture of this vampire symbol, and finds a secret door.

He finds the young woman locked in one of the six doors, in the hidden room, hers is locked, and he can’t free her. He hides in an unlocked door, while Jerry comes in and sucks her blood. He locks her back up, and then leaves. Charley then frees her and stumbles out of the house with her. Jerry knows they leave and laughs. When they step into the sunrise the sun burns her up. Charley, now scared as ever goes home and makes wooden stakes, and hangs crosses, and garlic around his house.

After the incident Charley visits Peter to discover he is a fake, wearing a black wig. He leaves his picture of the vampire symbol he found at Jerry’s house for him.

That night he warns his mom and girlfriend not to invite Jerry in. They keep Jerry outside, but Jerry pulls out there gas pipe, and the house lights up when he lights the broken pipe. Charley, his mom, and his girlfriend run out, and take their car. They take off, but Jerry is on them. He stands in front of their car, and Charley forces his mom, to hit him. They hit Jerry, but he holds on under the car, and uses his ‘scary vampire hands’ to rip the bottom. They pull over and Charley tries to fight Jerry. Jerry is about to kill Charley when his mom stabs Jerry with a wooden sale sign. Jerry stumbling around is not dead though. Charley’s mom faints and they bring her to the hospital. He then gets a phone call from Peter, saying he is not that much of a fake.

Charley goes to his home, with his girlfriend, and Peter tells them his family was killed by vampires, and that’s why he has all these vampire killing weapons in his home set up in a museum. Peter accidentally invites Charley’s old friend into his house. Peter runs into his panic room, but the door cuts Charley’s friends arm off. He then attacks Charley, and the two fight. Meanwhile his girlfriend bumps into Jerry and throws holy water at him, burning his face. She then helps Charley kill his friend.

It isn’t over yet and they run from Jerry into a club, where he takes his girlfriend and turns her. Charley goes back to Peter asking for help, and Peter gives him a stake that will turn all of Jerry’s victims into humans again. Charley goes to Peter’s house, in the morning, and so does Peter, armed with wooden bullets.

Charley is faced with his vampire girlfriend and stabs her to slow her down. Charley helps Peter, who was hit in the head with a pebble by Jerry, so that one-drop of his blood fell. The one-drop woke up the vampires he had buried in his secret cave. The vampires come out and turn Peter. Charley sits in a spot of sunlight through the hole he blew out from the roof. As his last resort he lights himself on fire and jumps on Jerry, catching him on fire. He then manages to stab Jerry with the special stake and he dies, allowing his victims to turn human again.

At last they all live happily ever after and Charley finally gets to sleep with his girlfriend. THE END!!!

My Review:

This was a pretty good movie. I enjoyed the vampires, mostly because they were like the original vampires. Burn in sunlight, are affected by holy water, and crosses, and have the long fingernails. I also really enjoyed the make up on the vampires, when they had their fangs. Their faces turned into this weird creepy face with a huge mouth. It looked really good. BUT the blood that gushed from the victims and wounds was very fake and cheesy. It squirted out like ketchup being squeezed. That wasn’t the only cheesy part. When Jerry was digging up the gas pipe the dirt he dug up was so fake and bulky. It was funny though. That was another good thing about the movie. It had some good laughs in there.

The acting in the movie was awesome. Charley was so good, every time he witnessed something, he would look all tormented and his hair messy, it was very well planned. I also really liked when Jerry had pulled their car over, after the house fire, he killed some guy driving by. This guy happened to be in the original Fright Night as the vampire. He got killed by his own character. Overall, a good movie I would defiantly recommend to anyone, it’s a great movie to watch on a Friday night.
