Movie Summary:

When the world was young, the Gods battled in the sky. The victors ruled on Mount Olympus, and imprisoned the other, the Titans beneath Mount Taratarus. They are held captive in what looks like a box. Also during the battle the Bow of Epirus was lost, a weapon that can shoot invincible energy arrows.

Centuries later, King Hyperion mounts a campaign to recover the Bow of Epirus and free the Titans. Bitter over the death of his wife and children due to illness he is set to destroy the Gods who refused his prayers to save his family. King Hyperion takes over the Sybelline Monastery, imprisoning the virgin oracle Phaedra and her two attendants, then kills the surrounding are of people. In another village works Theseus a stone mason. Theseus has been trained in the military arts by a mysterious old man. This man encourages Theseus to protect all of humanity. Theseus mother who was raped and considered an outcasts doesn't want him to. Later the old man walks off to a cave where the goddess Athena visits him. The old man reveals himself as the god Zeus.

Back to Thesus, King Hyperion's force destroy's Theseus' villiage. Thesus fights against them showing great skill and we are introduced to Lysander (Joseph Morgan). Lysander later devotes himself to Hyperion and is castrated and becomes fully devoted to Hyperion and fights among King Hyperion. Theseus never wins and is imprisoned. He is taken to where Phaedra and her attendants are also kept. Phaedra accidentaly touches Theseus and has a vision of him as either the savior of humanity or the ally of Hyperion in the destruction of the world. That night Phaedra, Theseus and two other prisoners, Stavros and Daerios escape.

On Olympus Zeus has forbid the gods to intervene with the human world unless the Titans are freed. Athena, Poseidon (Kellan Lutz) and Ares (Daniel Sharman) are determined to protect Theseus as best they can. Back on the human world Phaedra tells Theseus he must return to his village and properly bury his mother. There, Theseus discovers the Bow or Epirus. Hyperion has sent his force to intercept them. The soldiers kill Daerios but after a brutal battle with the army, Theseus uses the Bow to free the other and escape. That night Theseus and Phaedra make love and she is freed from her powers, since she is no longer a virgin and she gets pregnant, but that isn't told till the end.

The remaining go to the Sybelline Monastary, where Hyperion has laid another trap. A jackal steals the Bow of Epirus and takes it to Hyperion, but the timely arival of Athena and Ares saves Theseus, Phaedra and Stavros. This angers Zeus and goes to the human world to punish. He kills Ares but allows Athena (his favourite) to get off easy and provide horses to Theseus so he can join a last stand against Hyperion's forces. Back in the heavens Poisiedon and Athena have a memorial for Ares.

As Theseus leads the fight against Hyperion's army, Hyperion uses the Bow of Epirus to free the Titans from their prison. This gets Zeus to intervene, and he, Athena, Poseidon, Heracles and Apollo fight a ferocious battle against the Titans. Theseus confronts Hyperion and though mortally wounded finally kills the King. The Titans kill all the gods except for Zeus and a very wounded Athena. Zeus destroy's Mount Tartarus to contain the Titans again. Zeus takes Athena and Theseus to Olympus with him.

Several years later, Phaedra lives in Theseus's village with her son, and Theseus's son. The old man (Zeus) approaches the boy and tells him to prepare for a coming war in heaven. The boy touches a statue and has a vision of Theseus leading the gods in a battle against the Titans.

My Review:

This was a really good movie. I really loved the visual effects, and the fight scenes. It was well filmed. I also really loved the cast. Joseph Morgan as Lysander (Klaus from the Vampire Diaries) was the bad guy but I just loved him because I love him in TVD, he is so hot. Also Daniel Sharman as Ares (from Teen Wolf) he to is just gorgeous! Kellan Lutz as Poisiden. (Emmet from Twilight) is just so hot! And Henry Cavil as Theseus (Superman) is smoking hot, and Luke Evans as Zeus was good looking. Thats actually the main reason why I watched this movie, because of all the great actors in it.

I also just really loved the movie because it has Greek mythology, I was studying it in school at the time I watched it and I was like so excited because I was like, I know what Mount Olympus is! I know Zeus is the top god! And what a D bag he is in all the stories. Did you know Zeus raped a swan? And disguised himself as a watering fountain to watch woman bathe? I think he even raped a chicken. EEEWWW.

Anyways, really good movie, you should definitely watch it, it is very interesting with a great story line. I wished there would be a part 2. Very good movie. 5 stars!!
