Movie Summary:

Ethan White a high school student in a little town has re-accruing dreams of a woman with black hair covering her face. Ethan hates the religious town he lives in and wants to move to a college very far from his town. He tells his housekeeper Emma that.

On Ethan’s first day back to school an ex-girlfriend of his asks if they can go out again but Ethan has his eyes on Lena Duchannes. She has just moved to town to stay with her uncle Macon. Macon lives in the old Ravenwood home, and everyone in town accuses him of worshiping the devil. Lena isn’t welcomed by her classmates.

After school Ethan is driving home when he sees Lena stuck in the rain he offers her a ride home.

The next day Lena has problems with the girls in her class when they start praying to God about Lena. Lena ends up shattering all the windows in her class. After the class Ethan drives to Lena’s house, he sneaks in and quickly runs out when he sees someone. He then bumps into Lena. Macon then comes out and invites Ethan in for tea. Macon ends up showing Ethans whole life, how he will marry have two kids, stay in the same town, become a drunken, divorce, and then commit suicide at 65. Ethan then leaves but gives her a locket first. They both see the dreams Ethan has had.

The next time Ethan goes to Lena’s house a spell messes up his time, but Lena helps him to her room. There she tells him she is a castor. Then they kiss. Lena tells Ethan that when she turns 16 which is in a few weeks she will be claimed for the dark side or light side.

The next day Lena’s cousin comes to town and invites Ethan to the house for a harvest dinner. Once Ethan arrives, he is paralyzed and can’t talk. They have dinner and when the cousin tries to hurt Ethan. Lena gets mad and throws her off the table. The table spins around and Lena shoves her cousin out the door.

After when Ethan and Lena go to the movies and they see the vision from the locket of a young woman turning into an evil castor when bringing back her dead boyfriend. Ethan and Lena find out that woman is Lena’s mom who is still alive and wants Lena on the dark side.

Lena tries to stay away from Ethan. When Ethan comes to her house he tells her he doesn’t care about the curse, he wants to stay with her. Lena and Ethan then go to the castor library with Emma to figure out a way to break the curse.

While looking for a cure Lena and Ethan kiss in front of the leaving the town sign and set it on fire. After that Lena discovers she cannot save Ethan and herself and decides to erase his memories so he’ll stay away from her. It works and the next day when Ethan wakes up he does not remember Lena.

The next day the town is acting out the civil war. Ethan is hanging with his friend but Lena’s cousin has hypnotized him to kill Ethan which he does. Lena who was having a birthday can feel something is wrong and finds Ethan dead. Then her mother and cousin appear, but Ethans body turns into Macon. He has disguised himself and dies. Lena then destroys her mother but spares her cousin.

The school year finishes and Ethan is on his way with his friend to look for colleges. He still doesn’t remember his time with Lena. Lena hears him and smiles. She is half good and half bad. THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Movie Review:

This was a pretty good movie, but too long for my liking. Um, I don’t have much bad stuff to say about this movie. I really hate the accents, it was getting annoying from time to time, and I just didn’t like the actors, for a movie titled ‘Beautiful Creatures’ I expected total knock-outs for the movie, but was quite let down.

I also didn’t like the ending, frankly it was stupid. Like seriously? She’s half evil half good! Ooooo! I don’t care. No wonder they aren’t making a sequel. It doesn’t have that cliff-hanger that is needed for a good sequel.

Now for things I liked, I loved the visuals. The make-up was nice, the clothing was stunning, and the setting was gorgeous. I loved the Ravenwood home, how it changed with the seasons, and the magic was also cool like when Lena is turning the room around, and poor Ethan gets brainwashed every two seconds. So that was all a big thing I liked in this movie.
