Movie Summary:

Kyle Kingston, the popular guy on campus is running to be the class president. His speech clearly states that if your ugly, you’re a nobody and it’s all about your looks. Also running for the position is Lindy, an un-popular girl. When Kyle is finished his speech Kendra the schools ‘slutty witch’ defaces his pictures. Kyle gives her a comeback, and then Kyle goes home. Kyle is seen at home in the city with his dad, his dad too believes in looks are everything. The next day Kyle invites Kendra to this party that has a special invitation only. When getting ready for the party his maid/caretaker Zola gives him a white rose for his shirt, but he is mad with her for not getting what he wanted, he treats her poorly. At the party his girlfriend hates his rose and then he gives the flower to Lindy who appreciates it and they take a picture together, he does have some feeling for her, but then Kendra walks in and he insults her for coming.

Once outside Kendra curses him, to be ugly forever unless someone can love him in a year. Kyle’s gorgeous blond hair disappears and his tanned skin turns pale, covering in black tattoos and scars, the black swirls run through his body and a silver part on his nose. Disgusted with himself he hides in hoody, but his father sees his face soon enough. They consult surgeons, who say they cannot do anything and his dead tells them they will take any risks to change his face. Upset Kyle leaves, and his father buys a house out of the city for him to live in.

His father tells him he will visit but he never does, he send Zola to take care of him, and hires a blind tutor, Will to keep up his studies. Time passes, and he doesn’t go outside, he however starts to care for Zola’s problems with her kids still in Africa, and Will unable to see. One day on Halloween he goes out, in his hoodie to see his old girlfriend kissing another guy, and he talks to Lindy, still covered up. From then on, Kyle watches Lindy from a distance, falling for her.

One day while watching he sees her father having problems with the landlord, and he shoots his brother. The landlord threatens to kill Lindy. Kyle tells her father to let Lindy come with him so he can protect her, her father agrees. Lindy comes to his house not seeing Kyle and makes her room in the attack. Wearing a ski mask Kyle offers her gifts, which she refuses until he gives her candy, then they talk but he tells her his name is Hunter. They slowly get close, but Kyle still questions her feelings. Time goes by and he’s almost out of time. He confronts Kendra to give him more time, and to cure Will from his blindness and give Zola green cards for her kids. Kendra agrees, but not for the extra time.

To get closer to Lindy he takes her to his lake house, and when they are about to kiss her phone goes off with a message that her father over dosed. She leaves but Kyle gives her a letter saying he loves her before she reads it she tells him he is a good friends. Kyle is upset she doesn’t love him and wishes he never gave her the note. Days pass and she tries to call but he is too upset to answer or call back. Zola and Will encourage him to talk to her. The day comes where she is leaving for Machu Pichu. He goes back to his old school where everyone sees his face. There Lindy kisses him, but doesn’t say I love you. She is about to board, but she turns and says she loves him. She then gets on. Kyle then turns back into his super hot self. Once outside he is overjoyed with happiness and then Lindy comes out saying she wants to stay here with Hunter Kyle goes to her but she still calls Hunter, she calls him on her cell and Kyle’s phone rings. Shocked Lindy kisses Kyle.

My Review:

This was a fairly good movie. I liked the modern twist on beauty and the beast. I also liked most of the characters. I love, love, love Alex Pettyfer, that’s the main reason I got this movie. He is so hot! I love Alex <3 Lol, I liked Will’s character, but I really didn’t like Vanessa Hudgens. I really don’t like her and her character is a bit annoying.

The movie itself was very cute, and had it’s funny moments. If it wasn’t for the funny parts, the movie would be pretty boring. The meaning itself was very sweet, the whole ‘love changes’ people was a great meaning, I thought.

Overall a good movie, defiantly recommend this to a younger crowd, my 10 year old sister enjoyed this, but my mother did not so if your over 18 you probably will get bored with this movie. Not the beginning though when we see shirtless Alex Pettyfer working out. Yeah so four stars for me.
