Movie Summary:

We are introduced to a bunch of clips from news channels talking about national problems including a recession, and the problems between the North Koreans.

After that Jed (Hemsworth) looking hot is seen watching a high school football game with his dad the sheriff of their town. His brother Matt is on the team, but looses. To cheer up they all go to a bar. Matt with his girlfriend Erica, and Jed reunites with an old friend Toni, they seem to hit it off. Their get together is cut short when all the power goes off, everyone returns home. Jed and Matt don’t seem to get along very well since their mothers death not to long ago. The next morning everyone is woken by what appears to be an earthquake.

Jed and Matt go outside with their dad to see military planes being flown over with armed men parachuting out. Their goes off to help other people while Jed and Matt drive off trying to warn people. When the armed North Koreans land they begin to shoot and take people hostage. Matt tries to get to his girlfriend Erica but she has already been captured. They are face to face with the armed Koreans, but Jed gets in the car with Matt and drive off while Robert (Hutcherson) and his best friend Danny jump in the back of their pick up. Another car follows Jed and Matt to a cabin in the woods. (ironic since I watched Cabin in The Woods with Chris Hemsworth a few days earlier). They meet the three peple in the other car, Julie, Greg and Pete.

They find some food and guns in the cabin and stay hidden, waiting for an attack. Jed hears a car coming and goes out with a gun, to see who’s car it is. The car ends up being driven by Toni, and another friend. Jed is happy to bring the news back but Pete shoots at them, almost hiting Jed. He is furious and takes Pete’s gun away. The next morning Jed tells the others that Pete took off with all their food. Not long after Korean trucks show up, the group hides in the forest and watch as Jed and Matt’s father is brought out hostage along with Danny’s father as well. Danny’s dad tells the group to come out, and that the Korean’s are good, and that he is on their side. The group doesn’t move and then Jed’s dad speaks up telling them to do what he would do, fight till the death to stop the Korean’s. The captain then shoots Jed’s dad.

The Korean’s leave and torch the cabin, at that point Jed tells them all that he is going to fight, and if they want to join him they can. They all decide to stay with him. Jed trains them all in the forest, to shoot and fight. They go out and kill a handful of Korean’s to steal their weapons, and they all succeed. Later on they set up explosions to kill Korean’s and name themselves the “Wolverines’ they spray paint the name where they attack and the Korean’s begin to call them ‘terrorist attacks’. The whole time Matt wants to find Erica, but Jed tells him he needs to stay with them. They plan a big bombing when the captain is having a large speech explaining what they intend to do. Matt sets the first little bomb off early when he sees Erica being held prisoner in a school bus. The group is outraged and the bigger bomb is stopped by the captain. Matt saves Erica, but Greg dies trying to keep them safe.

Jed is upset with Matt’s reckless behaviour, but understand they need to figure out a new plan. The Koreans however find where they were hiding in a cave and send out their own bomb there. The bomb kills Julie and Toni’s friend. They are all upset over the loss, and build a camp in the woods. They meet three ex US military soldiers and they ask if they can join the ‘Wolverines’. Together they set out to the Korean base to steal this suitcase that they use to communicate in hopes to stop the fight.

They fight hard, one of the soldiers is killed fighting, Danny is stabbed, and Jed is shot in the leg. They all however make it out alive with the case and successfully killed the captain.

At an abandoned building they finally relax and are celebrating. Jed and Matt have fixed their problems, and Jed is proud of him. Jed walks over to meet Toni, who is waiting for him with some beer, but Jed is shot and dies. All hell breaks loose, and they barely manage to escape.

Once on the road, they are all grieving over their leader. They stop and question how the Koreans found where they were hiding and realize that Danny wasn’t stabbed with a knife but marked with a tracker that was inserted into him. Toni lashes out of Danny, for the loss of Jed her somewhat boyfriend. Danny knows he will harm their group if he stays and tells them to leave without him. Robert is devastated that he has to leave his best friend, but knows he has to, they say goodbye and leave.

At the end Matt takes over the group and they get new members to help continue fighting all the Korean’s off as the ‘Wolverines’. He gives the same speech his brother Jed did in the start of the movie. THE END!!!!!!

My Review:

I really enjoyed this movie, it was very interesting, and I thought it was awesome and original, but I never saw the original. My friend also said it was very similar to another movie, but I loves this movie. I also love Chris Hemsworht, that’s one reason why I got this movie to watch it, because I loved him in Cabin in The Woods, Thor, Avengers, and Snow White and the Huntsman. Anyways, I really liked all the characters, except Erica, I just wanted them to kill her. Although I didn’t’ say much about Robert (Josh. Hutcherson) he had a lot of great scenes. He didn’t like killing, so the first time he killed he threw up, and then Jed had tricked him into drinking deer blood. He was a really great character. Better then he was in the Hunger Games, a movie I hate.

What I didn’t like (besides Erica) was the fact that Jed was killed, I really liked his character and didn’t want him to die. I would have preferred for Matt to die instead, he was so ugly. God, what the hell, he has this hot brother, but he was so ugly. Although the whole plot was great, (keep fighting!) lol, I was still confused to why the Korean’s were attacking, I didn’t pay too much attention to the very first part with the clips, I probably should have but oh well.

So, I liked this movie, enough to give it four stars, I would defiantly recommend it to everyone. It has its funny moments, which makes it more entertaining to watch, and its overall look is very nice. Great movie, Chris Hemsworth rocks! (more then his brother). This is a movie I would buy, I just borrowed it. I actually think I would like it better then the original because of the actors, and the funny parts.
