I really like the idea of Luke calling Ashton his 'dream' I think it's so cute and oddly fitting.

Luke was fast asleep in dreamland when he heard someone knock at his door.

He got up, blinking his sleepiness away or least trying to.

"Mum?" He asked his voice scratchy

"No, it's Calum ya doof," a wide awake voice said from the other side.

Luke rolled his eyes and fell back against his soft sheets.

"It's open," he called before he heard the door open and close.

"Luke?" Calum asked in a small voice.

Luke immediately knew that something was wrong with his best friend by his tone. He got back up and scooted around on  his bed to make room for Calum.

Calum crawled into the bed and cuddled next to Luke, wrapping his arms around the blond's tiny waist.

"I never knew you were a little spoon," Luke teased. If Calum wasn't going to tell him why he is upset, he wasn't going to force him to explain.

"Shut up, Luke," Calum said and Luke didn't have to look at Calum to know that he was smiling.

The next day Calum and Luke walked through the halls of depression as they made their way to first period.

Calum borrowed some clothes from Luke since he couldn't show up in the clothes he wore yesterday, they were wrinkly and smelt weird.

"I just have to ask one thing Calum," Luke said as they sat on the wooden desk waiting for the bell to ring

"What?"

"Why didn't you go home this morning? We had the time but you said that you couldn't, did something happen?" Luke asked

"I really don't want to talk about it Luke," he said

"C'mon Calum, I think I deserve an explanation, you show up at my house after ten and don't say a word," Luke defended.

"You don't deserve anything, no one said you were inclined to a reason," Calum snapped picking up his bag and walking out of the class.

Luke sighed and picked his bag up too and followed him.

Luke knew this best friend, he knew that he would be in the toilets and Luke was right.

He didn't say anything as he heard Calum's choked sobs coming from the locked stall. He just slid down on the newly disinfected ground with his back against the stall.

"I'm sorry, I'm just worried about you," Luke apologized softly.

Calum sniffled before unlocking the door and letting Luke in.

Luke didn't say anything once again, just held Calum in his arms until his breathing evened out.

"They fought," Calum mumbled.

"Who?" He asked although Luke already knew the answer.

"Mum and dad,"

Luke's heart skipped a beat even though it shouldn't have when he heard that Ashton and his wife fought. He still loves Ashton, or at least he thinks he does even after Ashton basically told Luke to back off.
