“Beloved husband! You can come out now,” I hear Alex’s voice and with Harry we bump the air with our fists, very film-like, because it worked! Alex has saved us, and I only had to call her. It’s impressive the power that woman has over Niall… or should I say embarrassing? Niall is not leaving us men in a good place here, I mean, I didn’t even hear them arguing. What did Alex do?

Reluctantly, Harry and I approach the door and we hear before we open the door. We can’t hear Niall banging anymore, nor his screams demanding revenge for what we did to him. It’s not like he can’t buy new snapbacks and socks, though, I don’t get why he was so mad… or is. I’m not sure what’s going on at the other side of this piece of wood.

Slowly, we open the door and we find Niall with a bag of crisps while Alex hugs him adorably, not even touching his food. So that’s what she did… she just gave food to the beast. But when Niall notices we’re out, he glares daggers at us and I know Alex holds him on the spot so he won’t kill us.

“What did you do?” the black-haired girl asks and she tries to look reproachful, but she is fighting her laughter.

“We may or may not have thrown his socks and snapbacks at the fans outside…” I start and Niall growl like a seized animal while Alex has to press her lips into a tight line so she won’t end up laughing. “It’s just a possibility.”

“That actually happened,” Harry adds and I think there’s steam coming out of Niall’s ears. “Niall, you can’t be that attached to material things. We’re just trying to give you a lesson,” the curly-haired boy states matter-of-factly and I have to fight the chuckle, too.

“That was a shitty move, husband,” Alex says and her smile is warm and she is looking at me proudly, but something tells me it’s not for what I did to her boyfriend but for calling her. “And I kinda liked those snapbacks, too.”

“Oops,” Harry and I say at the same time and she can’t hold it anymore and this time, while she laughs, Niall looks at her just like she has betrayed him.

“Sorry, babe, it’s just funny. I wish I could’ve seen how the fans reacted,” she says giving him a kiss on the cheek and Niall pouts.

“I don’t have socks now… and I had some very special snapbacks there,” he whines and I see how Alex softens at the words and hugs him tighter, her eyes showing sheer adoration.

Alex is not the same girl we met, the tough girl who looked like someone coming out of a bikers’ gang, someone who wouldn’t take crap from anyone, but now you look at her and you see a girl who’s madly in love with someone who looks still so different from her. She still has her tattoos and rocker hair, the piercings and the badass look, but when she smiles she looks as adorable as Niall can look. And it’s when they smile at each other when you see that they belong together.

But what if someone better suited for her appears? Is there someone better? Because when I see them like this, when they smile at each other in that way, when the rest of the word just disappears for them is when I start to wonder whether there is someone better for Alex, someone who will make her leave Niall like Eleanor left me. I know no one is perfect, there’s always someone better than you, but still… there are couples who are still together, couples that die together. Is it because they never find the better one or because they did? Do you ever find that person who is more than enough for you?

My head hurts as I keep thinking of that. Months ago things were so clear to me, my generalisations made everything easy. All women were the same, all would stab you in the back as soon as someone better knocked at their doors, but things have changed and I’m not sure anymore of what to believe.
