"So when were you two going to tell me?" Payge demanded as we met up to her I blushed a bit and turned away.

Payne didn't utter a word but I wasn't concerned about his silence, he seemed to be the same relaxed so I knew he wasn't upset. Maybe it was the whole Payge pregnant thing.

Shit. I'd completely forgotten.

"I.. Yes.. Uhm .. You two should talk." I stuttered and Payge rose a perfectly arched brow at me.

"I'm not the one holding a grudge am I? He's the one acting like he's got a stick up his ass. I already apologized." Payge and Payne began glaring at each other at that point and I could tell it was only a matter of time before Payne's cool facade broke down. Poking her belly and gasping Payge playfully glared at her brother, "Look at that. You throwing a tantrum and being mad at me still isn't changing the fact that I'm preggers.. Stop being a dick" she playfully punched her brother in the arm then as he was about to flinch away from her touch she slammed her body against his and hugged him. "I'm so happy for you two!" She squealed and  his body went rigid in her embrace. His fingers entwined in mine tightened and I released him. They needed this.

Kissing her brother on the cheek as she pulled away a bright happy grin was on her face. Payne just looked distant and in a state of shock from the embrace. He was too shocked to even blush. I knew he wanted to. Deep down. Deep, deep down.

"If you are going to be a dick though... You might as well suck mine." Payge walked off in a fit of giggles and blew a kiss at us as she made her way back to her friends.

I couldn't help the smile on my face and turned to Payne ready to lose it because he'd probably be pissed..... Instead, as I faced him he had a grin on his face and he shook his head smiling.

"Crazy bitch." He muttered and I nodded giggling a bit.

Looking around the crowd a mix of up beat songs blasted loud around us. Maybe in another life I'd be able to enjoy stuff like this, be reckless and dance free like these people. All I could think of now was keeping Payne as calm as possble.

With a strong grip on my hand he pulled me through the crowd.
"I'm not feeling this party."he said in my ear and I nodded glad to get out of here. "I'll take you home. Are you hungry?"

Damn, the mention of food had my stomach answering for itself.
I'd only eaten once for the day and I was eager to meet my next meal.

"Let's get out of here."

*********
A few minutes later we finally finished the walk to his home. The walk was cool and peaceful with a comfortable silence between us. I knew we both had a lot to think about and we were currently stuck in our own heads.

The house we stopped at was nothing I'd ever expected Payne Vincent to live in. That ugly depressing castle? Yes, but not this.

It was a two story cottage located further into the large estate far from the other homes.

The cottage was cream with dark brown shutters and a matching porch at the front. There were no plants littering the walk way but the lawn was trimmed in a neat design. There were no lights on and even with the moonlight's glow in our favor I couldn't decipher the entire lot.

Payne made his way up the porch steps and I followed after him in silence. I really didn't know what to say right now. The path we were on felt like a fragile precious gem laying on the edge right before a cliff.

The floor of the cottage was made out of rich dark wood and as I stepped up I could feel the firmness of the material.

There were a pair of chairs to the corner near a window and I could tell it hadn't been used, maybe in forever. I couldn't picture Payge or Payne sitting out here relaxing, the two didn't seem to understand the meaning of the word relax.
