I sighed and climbed back up the huge oak tree, that stood just outside my bedroom window. I want to be friends with Jason. Well, more than friends actually. But, I want to know about my past. I layer down on my bed, and tried to sleep. But, I couldn't get what happened out of my head.
I woke up in the morning, to the sound of my annoying alarm. Ugh. Another day of school to attend. I walked to the bathroom, and took a nice, long shower. When I got out, I thought about last night. Was it a dream? No. It was cold, hard reality. Why couldn't I just be a normal kid, who only had to worry about how many pimples they had?
I sighed and walked downstairs. Mom was nowhere to be found. Neither was Jake. I looked at the fridge. No notes. Where was everyone? Probably working, or sleeping. Oh well. I made myself a bowl of cereal and a cup of orange juice. After I finished eating I went upstairs to get ready. After straightening my hair, and applying a minimal amount of make up, I went to get dressed. I threw on a brown, ruffled dress, that has pink and whit flowers on it. I added a white sweater, and a stretchy tan and brown belt, with tan boots. Had to look my best for Jason.
I grabbed my tan leather purse, and ran down the stairs. I hopped into my black Escalade, and drove to school. When I pulled into the parking lot, I saw Jason sitting near a wall, texting on his blackberry. Wow, he looked amazing. He wore a red, plaid shirt, black suprahs, and ripped jeans. Totally the bad boy look. Should I go talk to him? Yep, I sure am.
"Hey," I say, smiling and sitting next to him. He doesn't look up for a minute. But when he does, and he sees who it is, he glares.
"Yeah?" he asks, obviously annoyed. Wow. What a way to treat the girl you want to be with.
"I just thought, you know, we could be friends." He doesn't say anything, just looks bewildered. But I swear, I saw a smile in his eyes for just a split second.
"No, we shouldn't be friends, Kayleigh. I'm not a good guy to be friends with."
"Oh, come on!" I say, not taking no for an answer. "I know you, you may act big and bad but inside your a softy."
He doesn't answer, just looks down pondering it all. Finally, he stands up. I stare up at him.
"Wanna walk home with me after school?" he asks politely.
I smile. I knew I could crack him. "Yes, yes I would."
"Meet me by the bike racks," he says, before walking off.
Finally, Im going to be friends with Jason McCann.
Crap! What about Alex? And his warning? Oh well, screw him!
