*Zack's POV*
The show, thankfully, ran smoothly. We played well and I could just picture everyone's faces as Alex and Jack cracked jokes at each other on stage. The other bands were amazing too, Pierce the Veil opened, followed by Tonight Alive, Us, Juliette Simms, Paramore, Sleeping with Sirens and Hey Monday.
Hayley was wonderful. She glowed on stage (not literally, but there was a magical feel to her voice). She was really quite pretty on stage and looked a lot more feminine than usual in her black skirt and shirt, although the female edge was cut of by the scruffy, high-top, rainbow converse.
She bounded off stage, grinning and gave me a big hug. I felt myself stiffen but soon relax in her grip, she was warm and smelt of peppermint. I could hear her giggling into my chest.
"I always end up laughing after I've performed" She loosened her grip and looked up at me.
"I noticed" She laughed some more before letting go of me and tucking a few loose strands of that bright orange hair behind her ears. I couldn't help but smile. It was as of performing turned her into a little girl, shy and innocent and excited.
It's funny how when ever I'm around her I feel the urge to do something brave, something so full of courage that I'll regret it afterwards.
I was about to suggest something really crazy like 'hey, do you wanna catch something to eat' or 'how 'bout a game of chess', but she beat me to it.
"I've got a plan Zachary, meet me outside your caravan at midnight" If anyone else had said that, I would've taken it... differently, if anyone else had said so I would've assumed they wanted sex or drugs or a date.
But this was Hayley, the little girl at heart Hayley.
I really wanted to hang out with her.
"Sure" I answered and she smiled and giggled.
"You're funny" She laughed and bounded off down the hall, where I assumed Jeremy and Taylor were waiting for her.
I made my way down the other corridor in search of the guys. Alex and Jack were slumped over the couches drinking what appeared to a mixture of every drink possible. Rian sat in the corner, twiddling his thumbs anxiously.
"Oh hey Zackyyyyy!" Jack greeted, violently waving his hand in the air.
"Hey Jack... that's not alcohol is it?"
"No" Rian answered for them. I nodded my head in relief, Jack and Alex were not easily handled drunks.
"Sit down" Jack demanded, pointing his finger at the seat beside him. I did as I was told.
"Soo..." he smirked suggestively. I was so confused.
"Yes?"
"You sleeping with her." What was he talking about. Sleeping with who? He didn't mean- no.
He was talking about Hayley.
"What the- NO!" He raised his eyebrow at me. Was he being serious, I didn't feel about her that way.
"Hayley and I are friends, good ones at that."
"Riiiiiggghhhtt. Friends"
"I'm being serious"
"Sure you are"
"Goddamnit Jack"
"Geez... No need to get angry" He crossed his arms and sulked, the way he always did when he was wrong. I'm pretty sure Alex was asleep on the couch and Rian had recently disappeared with a white envelope in his hand. Instructions for Flyzik, I assume.
Something about the absence of happiness in the room currently made me wish Hayley was here to brighten it.
Because it seemed that was what she did best, brighten my day.
I sat on the couch silently, imagining her presence.
Wishing for midnight to come sooner.
