*Jack's POV*
The morning after Jenna and I hung out, I slumped out of the bedroom only to find Alex sitting on the kitchen counter, legs crossed. In his right hand a red and blue tube of something callled "Fixit", in the other a bag of frozen peas. Its only when he turned his face I saw why.
He looked like he'd just had a fight with some muscly-ass sumo wrestler who had pummeled his face in. I suspect their are other injuries concealed behind his clothes.
The angry, wild look in his eyes tells me not to talk about it.
I make my way through the kitchen, swooping the milk out from the fridge and taking a big gulp of it, before chucking it back in and slamming the fridge door with a whoosh. Alex smiles, but remains looking tired and shrivelled of life.
"You hungry?" I mumble through milk, spilling a few drops on my pyjamas. He yawns, shakes his head.
"Nah, I'm good" Well, Alex, you clearly aren't good if you're not eating. I smile instead. I decided to grab a handful of cornflakes (which normally, I detest because they're boring and not covered in sugar.) and sit beside him. We sit in silence. It feels kind of funny. Me in my batman pyjamas, warm as they cover my hands and feet, Alex in his red and blue mickey mouse ones. I felt like we were little kids, unsure of what to say and unsure of what to do.
Rian walks in on us, stops in his tracks. I can tell he's think about Alex, he gets that weird expression on his face when he's thinking. Most people would think that rian is about to cry or throw a tantrum when he's thinking. I guess I've got used to it.
"Morning ladies" he greeted us, yawning. It seems to be a habit of ours to be hungry first thing in the morning. He pours some milk and cereal (he actually likes cornflakes?) into a bowl and sits beside me, leaning against the forever deteriorating kitchen splashback. He sighs.
Today, unlike many other days before this, Rian looks incredibly happy. He's either been smoking weed, or something worked out well for him.
Theres another long silence before Rian turns his face to us, grinning.
"So, Cass and I worked things out last night." I smile, but stay silent.
"And? What was her problem?"
"Don't know, don't care," He shrugged. "All that matters is that we're fine. I love her" he added.
Alex looked happy now, but I could tell even smiling hurt him.
"That's real deep, man." Zack chirped, emerging from the bedroom. Unlike the three of us, Zack didn't get cold. And, even though outside the weather was practically artic (okay maybe I'm exaggerating slightly...) weather, Zack was still shirtless. As if by routine, he grabbed a bottle of vitamin water and sat beside Alex. He didn't look phased by Alex's multiple wounds.
"Morning Loverboy" He teased Rian.
"Says you man, you dissapeared with that other chick." Rian retorted, chuckling. Zack blushed, and did what he did best, stay silent.
"Yeah, what's up with you two?" I asked, trying to sound like I didn't really care. But, being the nosy parker I am, I really wanted to know.
"We hang out, end of story." Zack mumbled, taking a swig.
"Dude, that could mean anything." Rian laughed.
"Hanging out, As friends" He persisted in a calm tone. Alex gave him a friendly punch, which he followed by grimacing slightly.
We continued talking and joking and messing around until Flyzick mosied in, sleep still obvious in his eyes.
"No shows today boys, do whatever you want."
And so we did. Zack went for a run, met up with the girl again. They went for a picnic by the lake, He ran back sweaty and happy. Alex went to Vic's said he needed some acohol therapy and that at Vic's place it was always beer o'clock. Rian spent most of the day walking around, hand in hand with Cass. I decided that I would go and see Jenna, who was talking to Tay. The three of us ended up going for dinner at some old pizza place and talking about the plan.
The plan was to get Juliet to like me.
